Luke ran a hand through his hair and leaned his head on the wall ahead of him. He knew better than what he did to Louisa. There was always another approach.

Something their parents continuously never failed to teach them.

He walked out of his bedroom and into the bathroom and he heard soft sobbing and muffled words from behind the door right across the bathroom.

Louisa's bedroom.

The door was creaked open. Unintentionally — purely out of curiosity — he carefully looked through the door, without getting caught.

He saw his sister on her bed, with their mom, hugging her. He couldn't make up the whole conversation. But the scene and the words thrown around here and there already gave it way.

Louisa was upset, not just because of Luke's overly protective act over her, but the natural feeling of the lack of trust she identified that was there between the siblings.

Luke felt that it was completely normal to be protective over a sibling. No matter their age or gender. But to him, it felt like with Louisa, it had to be extra. A sister, and younger.

To a regular brother, it won't matter bug him just as much. But Luke had a bad habit of mixing his emotions, his beliefs and morals, and the situation all together.

To Louisa, according to the situation, it was just another branch of no trust. It became another He Thought, She Thought situation.

He softly knocked on the door and walked in. Their mom and Louisa pulled away from their hug and turned to Luke. Louisa quickly wiped her tears.

"I wasn't crying," she said quickly.

He chuckled lightly. "Sure you weren't." He opened his arms wide. "Come here."

Without hesitation, Louisa jumped off the bed and wrapped her arms around her older brother's waist. His hands lied tightly around her waist and his chin above her head.

"I'm sorry, Lou."

He noticed that the door was opened and closed without either of them realizing it sooner. They pulled away and sat on her bed.

"I shouldn't have been so protective. I just.. I always feel the need to take care of you, Louisa. And it is just so difficult with you being stubborn. Then again, both of us are," he said. "But that still doesn't justify why I didn't even want to listen to you."

She nodded. "I understand. But can you just explain to me why I can't go?"

He sighed. "Because I was a junior too, just last year. I'm a guy too. I know what guys think about in junior year. You're just too naïve to see the looks you unconsciously receive. Juniors and Seniors.

"I know you better than that, Lou. Besides, Jackson Keller will be there as well. Don't even deny it, I know. I know him so well that I already know his ways backwards. If you really want to go.. go. I trust you." He finished, smiling.

Louisa couldn't believe that her brother, was saying that. Neither did he. But he knew, that times will come when he will just have to agree to things against his own will, just for people who mattered.

That moment he knew, that was one of them.
