Khadijah decided to spend the afternoon after school in the public library. She studied for the test she had the following day and decided to curl up with a book.

She was so engaged with the book that she didn't notice that someone passed by her. "What are you reading?" She heard a voice from above her.

He stood there with a small smile on his face. She wondered what he was doing in the library alone. Why would he be there? That was the more important question.

"Um, The Tell-Tale-Heart," she smiled.

He returned the gesture and pulled a beanbag and sat next to her. "Oh. Edger Allan Poe, very good author."

She chuckled softly, "you never even read a book he wrote, did you?" Luke shook his head. Confidence shining. "Are you reading it just because the teacher told us to?" She shook her head.

"No actually, I really do the novel. I like how the guilt is portrayed in it," he flashed her one of the trademark charming smile of Luke Kingston.

"Aren't you read the chapter that was a homework?" He nodded. "I will. Don't mind me, I'll silently read."

Khadijah smiled. "I wouldn't."

Both of them silently took out their notebooks and novels and doing the homework, sitting side-by-side.
