• Hey there. I've been trying to update a little more frequent from now on. I plan on updating on certain days but I haven't decided when exactly. But for the time being, happy reading! •

It had been a few days since the incident between Luke and his parents. Him and his dad were a bit rusty, nothing unfamiliar for Luke. But the part that pained him the most was his mom.

They barely talked. And if they did or they made eye contact, he could see the pain in her eyes.

Neither is his relationship with his friends as great. Greg has went away for a few days to some family members on the other side of town. And when he came back, Luke felt a change in Greg's actions towards him.

As usual, Luke went to school and walked into the Literature classroom. Khadijah was there, reading. She noticed his presence and looked up and smiled.

"Hey," he greeted.

"Hi. Did you talk to your mom yet?"

Luke sighed. "No I didn't." He looked at his feet. "I can't. I'm too ashamed of myself to do so."

"I get that. But you need to talk to her. I know that you're having a hard time with it. And I'm sure that she is struggling as well. So just talk to her."

He rubbed his temple. "Yeah I get it. But what do I start with? How do you even start a conversation like this one?"

"Why not just with 'I'm sorry'? See where it goes from there. Just let it work itself out."

Luke let out a heavy sigh. "I hate it when you're right."

Khadijah chuckled softly, making Luke look at her. "But believe me, it's going to be okay."

Luke nodded. "I sure do hope so."

Their teacher walked in and started explaining. Luke unintentionally spaced out. He knew that he couldn't avoid it anymore. He had to talk to his parents. Whether he liked it or not. Because there had to be another side for the story.

Even if he didn't want to hear it, he knew that someday he will have to. Might as well be sooner than later.
