• So... it's winter break! I waited so long! Practically since the start of the year, lol. What are you up to in this break? Going to the beach? Hikes? Funny enough, I'm at the beach, and it's extremely windy •

Ever since childhood, most children, with Luke included, crave the moments to prove their parents wrong.
In this moment, Luke never felt better his entire life.
Both his parents sat on the swing on the porch, side-by-side waiting patiently for their son to talk.
His father looked at his watch and then turned to his wife, who just gave him a shrug. "Is this going to take long, son? I want to go to my upstairs and sleep for a while."
Luke shook his head. "No don't worry. I won't be long."
His parents sat upright and looked at him. Luke opened his mouth to talk when he turned to his mom. He noticed that she was anxious to know what he had to say, yet, he sensed that she had some idea about the topic.
"Why did you marry Mom, Dad?" He asked, out of the blue.
His dad furrowed his eyebrows. "Excuse me? What do you mean why I married her? Because I love your mother, obviously."
Luke laughed sarcastically. "That's funny. Cause I swear I read that Muslim women can't marry any man, but from her religion." He paused for a second, averting his attention to his mom. "Why? Didn't you know?"
His dad looked at the ground, reluctant to look into his son's eyes. "Yes. I knew that."
"Oh you did? Then why did you marry her?" Luke pressured his dad.
"I answered, Luke. I loved your mom, besides, she was the one who said yes." His mom's eyes widened as she turned to her husband.
"Oh and you didn't even have the guts to knock some sense into her?" The question slipped out of Luke's mouth, making his eyes widen and mouth open.
"Lucas! Do you realize what you just said?!"
Luke turned to his mom whose eyes were welling with tears that were threatening to spill any second later. She didn't even give them a chance to fall before she ran back into the house, softly sobbing.
"I-I... I didn't mean it like that. I didn't mean to make her upset," Luke's voice lowered, as well as his eyes.
"Well you sure have a funny way of showing it," his father said, furious. He saw his dad mad multiple times, but he never saw him as mad as he was at that exact moment. "Now I have to fix what you just did."
His dad got up from the swing and got into the house.
Luke sighed and looked at the ski then at his phone in his hand. He opened his contacts and stared down at the number before pressing 'call'.
He put the phone on his ear before waiting for a reply. Right after the fifth ring was about to finish, he was about to end the call before he finally got a reply.
"Hello?"
