I turn to my parents after the blood drops into the coal. Broken, is all I see in their faces. I won't cry because I am now Dauntless I'm supposed to be brave. I see anger in their eyes. Hatred. I have no one. I am alone and will be till I die. Is God mad at me for betraying my family? No. He can't because I know in the future, he has a plan for me. Remember faction before blood, right?

I realized that I'm still standing in front of the dauntless bowl, and sit down with the Dauntless initiates. They congratulate me but I say nothing in return. Rude. I already fit in, I say to myself.

I here a name called a couple minutes later. An Erudite girl running towards the Dauntless bowl. She's very pretty. She is already sitting next to me in a matter of seconds. I can tell she wanted to get out of Erudite BADLY. I see her holding something up to her neck. A heart shaped necklace. I then see her

staring at her probably father smiling. I feel jealous that someone cares for her.

Even though I'm Dauntless they probably don't care about me, only pretty ones like the girl sitting next to me. Not like everyone else, I am alone.

The ceremony just ended and now everyone is heading to the different factions. I turn to face my parents with their eyes still burning and whispering, "Why Dauntless!?" All I say quietly without them being able to hear is my one and only last sentence to them "I'm sorry, I love you." I turn my head and just follow the Dauntless initiates to train tracks.

I see a train coming towards us and see the initiates preparing to jump on the train. The train suddenly passes me. Great.

I start running towards the train seeing initiates jump on the train. My lungs burn and my eyes are tearing up from running, trailing off my face and turning into nothing.

I taste bile in my mouth as I imagine myself being factionless. No. I am brave. I can and am making this through initiation.

I didn't choose this faction for nothing. I am and have to be something, no matter what.

I start running faster and faster, passing all the other initiates and don't even blink. Adrenaline, rushing through my body.

All I do is just jump on the train and slam the button to open the train door. I now have a reason to live. To survive and keep on pushing and trying no matter what. I am not just Dauntless, I am myself, Divergent.

I am on the train sitting next to the Erudite girl that was sitting next to me.

"First to jump on the train?" I ask.

"Yup" says the Erudite girl. "I'm Ellie Stunning" she says.

"Not surprised." I mumble.

"Why?" she says in a curious tone.

"Well you ARE stunning" I say.

"Oh, Thanks." She says.

"No problem, I'm Scarlet Montgomery." I reply.
