Chapter 12

I can't believe this is really happening.

I'm going to die..

My heart beats harder and harder every time my hand slips a few centimeters.

With hope I keep on screaming for help, "Help! Someone! Please..?!"

I suddenly have an urging voice to not give up and to keep on screaming. I desperately call for Ellie in my head.

Help.

Before I completely fall to my death I hear footsteps., "Scar!"

Ellie runs up to me with a boy that I don't know, and they both help me to the floor.

"Scar, what happened?! How did you end up hanging over a waterfall? Who did this to you?!", Ellie fussed like a worried mother.

"Um..no. No one did, I fell," I said breathless.

Suddenly the boy that I don't know speaks, "How did you fall? We're you on the edge or something?" He says curious.

I have a confused look on my face because I don't know him and scoot farther away. "Um..no. I felt dizzy and fell." I say protectively.

The Erudite boy nods his head understandingly and keeps on asking questions like doctors, "Your probably just exhausted. Have you eaten lately, have you drank anything? Are you tired?"

Questions. Questions. Questions.

"I uh.. haven't eaten since lunch yesterday," I say scooting even farther away from the boy.

"Oh in that case, if you eat breakfast and remember lunch and dinner, and also drink in between, you should be just fine. You can take a nap if you want to, and after you've eaten you should be able to sleep fine," says the boy talking like a doctor again.

"Um. Thank you?" I say polite but unsure.

His eyes go wide and he speaks once again. "Oh my, where are my manners!? I'm Chris Stunning by the way, Ellie's brother, and you are?

My shoulders relax because he's Ellie's brother. He helps me up to my feet and I tell him my name, "I'm Scarlet Montgomery, but call me Scar, or else I'll throw you over the rails," I say in a stern voice, growing confidence.

Chris smiles politely and turns to Ellie saying, "Why are you still on the floor?"

Ellie realized that she was sitting and immediately stands up straight.

"Scar what were you thinking! You scared me half to death! Why didn't you eat?!" Ellie says suddenly screaming at me.

"I wasn't hungry," I said shrugging.

"Okay fine, we were heading to get me some contacts and your coming so you can eat," Ellie said with no time to object.

"Fine, but I'm to dizzy," I say lazily.

Ellie turns her back to me and bends down on he knees. "Jump on," she says exhausted.

I agree and jump on her back.

Off for food!
