Different in the Same Ways

Chapter 13

"Put me down," I said tired of being on Ellie's back. She put me down and I wobbled on the ground.

"You really need to eat," Ellie says worried. "I'll get some food at the cafeteria, don't worry about me I'm fine. Now go get your contacts," I said annoyed. Ellie rolls her eyes playfully and walks away with her brother.

I head out to the cafeteria and open the two entrance doors. My ears burst because of the loud noise. When can they ever shut up? I quickly grab a sandwich and head out to the dorms.

When I enter the dorms I hear soft snores. I walk up to my bed and see Luke sleeping like a baby. I quietly get on my bed and open my sandwich from the plastic wrap. I eat it while watching Luke sleep. After I finish eating I throw the wrappers in the trash can. I walk back and lay on my bed, staring a the ceiling. Next thing I know, I fall asleep.

Ugh, today's the first day of training..

I get up from my bed and see a made bed. I head to the bathroom and take a quick shower and quickly get dressed into clean clothes.

I run to the hangout area and find Ellie talking to Alex. Huh, I don't want to interrupt them. Instead, I walk around the shops and look around for stuff. I pass the Tattoo shop and see Tori.

"Hey, do you want a Tattoo?" Tori says calmly.

"Oh no, I don't do Tattoos, sorry." I replied.

"She narrows her eyes and says, "You remind me of Ellie."

"I take that as a compliment, thank you." I say back.

Tori nods her head and I walk away, looking around. I suddenly halt a have an urge to go training so I head to the training center.

I walk up to a dummy and start to punch it, nonstop.

1 Hour Later..

I finally stop punching the dummy and I look at my knuckles, they are swollen. My right arm really aches to. I head to my room and get a wrap from my first aid kit from home.

You never know, I'm in a Dauntless compound, of course I'm gonna bring one.

I wrap the wrap over my right arm and run cold water over my knuckles. The training really helped me to let all my anger out.

I look at my watch to see that it's dinner time so I head out to the cafeteria. When I walk in I see everyone stare at me. I pause and quickly find Ellie and Alex, and speed walk to them with eyes still on me.

"You shot Luke, that's why everyone is staring at you," Ellie says a matter of factly. I nod and put my head down.

"You know, everyone is glaring at you right now?" Alex says.

Ellie hits Alex on the head and says, "Shut up!"

Alex puts his hands up in surrender and says, "Okay." After that he mumbles quietly, "For now."

I chuckle and see Alex looking at Ellie dreamily while she's staring into the crowd full of Dauntless.

They are so cute.

I sigh and pick food off of Ellie's plate. Ellie slaps my hand away and says, "Stop eating my food!"

After that I grab a handful of French Fries from Alex's plate and stuffed them into my mouth without him looking. Ellie giggles quietly. Alex turns his head back around and looks at his plate.

"I could of sworn I got French Fries," Alex says certain of himself.

I smirk at him evilly and say, "Indeed you did." I wait for him to realize what I meant and he yells, "Hey!"

Ellie bursts into laughter and her face turns beat red and Alex blushes, because he made her laugh. Awe..

I sigh heavily and head back to the dorms and see Jude kissing Luke.

She hears the door and turns to look at me, smirking.

My heart shatter, right in front of my eyes. Stay strong Scarlet, stay strong, I say to myself several times.

I start walking to my bed and say, "Do this on your bed Jude, this is really unacceptable." I say.

She rolls her eyes and says, "Are you kidding me? Unacceptable, from you? Why don't you go to your bed? In the Chasm."

My eyes go wide. How did she know?

My heartbeat fastens and a tear rolls down my cheek. I run to the Chasm without stopping. Once I get their I sit down with my head in between my knees. I close my eyes and sob till I fall asleep.

Again.
