The next morning you were waiting patiently for the rest of team seven to show up. Granted that you were always early, you didn't like waiting on people. Except, of course, it was just your sensei you were waiting for, then you'd have no problem waiting. A small smile and a blush formed onto your cheeks as you thought of Kakashi sensei. But as soon as those thoughts entered your mind, you shook them away. You knew that he only thought of you as a mere student of his, frowning slightly you turned towards the path that leads to the training grounds and recognized Sasuke's chakra nearing. Today you decided to not get any practice in before actual training, seeing as yesterday took a huge toll on your body, you wanted to build your strength back up.

"Hn..Morning (y/n)." Duckbutt had finally shown up. You were glad that he had shown up first because Sasuke and you have been best friends ever since you were brought to this village. You came to this village sometime after Sasuke's clan had been wiped out and you connected with him and the pain he's going through. Soon after meeting you guys just became inseparable, and formed a brother and sister bond.

"Morning Duckbutt." You replied while tossing a bag at him. You always waited until he got here to eat breakfast, well, any meal for that matter. He was like family to you and it felt weird eating without him. He swiftly caught the bag and tossed one right back at you.

" Tomatoes with olive oil just how you like 'em." You said before sitting down and starting to eat what he brought you. You absolutely loved (f/f) and Sasuke always managed to pull through and get it for you every morning. Sasuke smiled faintly before starting to eat the meal you had made for him.

" How come you weren't at training yesterday?" Sakura popped out of nowhere behind you resulting in you punching her in the face as a reflex. Sasuke stifled a laugh and looked at you, making sure you wouldn't pounce on her.

" If you must know, I drained most of my chakra doing my original style jutsu and needed rest." You spoke in an annoyed tone while looking at the pink haired girl, who was currently nursing a busted lip. Sasuke nodded his head and put another piece of tomato in his mouth. Sakura, on the other hand, got angry and pulled you up onto your feet.

" Listen here. I don't care who you are, stay away from my Sasuke. Got it?" Sakura was trying to intimidate you, but it obviously wasn't working. You scoffed and looked at Sasuke who simply just nodded at you due to the fact he was also becoming annoyed.

" Duckbutt doesn't belong to anyone actually and unless you want a black eye to accompany your busted lip I suggest you get your filthy hands off of me." You spoke in a tone that made even Sasuke uncomfortable. Sakura quickly lets go of you and averted her gaze downwards before walking little ways away from you. You nodded to yourself before sitting back down and finished eating your breakfast.

Naruto showed up soon after and was being the hyperactive ninja he always is." AW YEAH! WE'RE GONNA KICK BUTT IN TRAINING TODAY! ISN'T THAT RIGHT SAKURA?!" Sakura hit Naruto upside the head and told him to keep it down. You turned to Sasuke sand spoke in a quiet tone. "At least you're the least annoying one here." You gestured towards your other two teammates, smirking.

" At least I'm not the one who has a crush on-" "I swear to god Sasuke if you say it out loud you won't wake up until next year!" You exclaimed clasping a hand over Sasuke's mouth. He was the only one who knew about your secret crush on Kakashi sensei and you planned to keep it that way.

Sasuke laughed quietly before removing your hand from his mouth." I won't tell anyone (y/n), just simple teasing." He confirmed before smiling at you. You were happy that the relationship you had with Sasuke was different than the other relationships you guys had. He was more like a protective and teasing older brother, and you appreciated the feeling of what family is supposed to be like. Still, sometimes not having a family anymore makes you upset, but there's nothing you were able to do about it. At least not right now.

"YOU'RE LATE AGAIN!" You heard Sakura and Naruto scream and you knew immediately that your sensei had finally arrived. Kakashi just simply shrugged while scratching the back of his head. You walked over to where he was and he smiled before patting your head causing a small blush to form. As simple as this average action was, it still managed to make your heart race. Sasuke smirked at your reaction and winked at you causing Sakura to glare at you. Kakashi removed his hand from your head making you pout slightly but you quickly got over it when he started to go over what we were going to be doing today.

"Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura, you will be working on your chakra control once again. The challenge for today is to be able to walk on water and still have enough control to try and perform jutsu. This exercise will help to manage your chakra flow and ultimately help you to become a stronger ninja." Kakashi finished with tilting his head to the side and smiling with his one visible eye. The three genin looked at their sensei with a weird look.

"What about meaty thighs?" Sakura pointed towards you with a smirk on her face. You growled under your breath and looked to your sensei.

"Well, considering her mastering of chakra is almost as well as my own, I figured (y/n) could relax today and get some more rest," Kakashi spoke to Sakura with a firm tone before turning towards you. Sakura scoffed while Naruto smiled at you. " However, tomorrow we do have a mission, so make sure that you three also rest up well tonight and I will give you the full details after training is done." You all nodded and the trio went off to the stream that was nearby, while you angrily sat on the ground and pulled out a book.

You mumbled a few colorful words to yourself before you started reading. Kakashi glanced over at you before taking a seat beside you. You glanced over at him for a few seconds before setting your book down in your lap.

"Since you aren't training today, I'll tell you the details now and then you can head home and get rested up before you have to head to work." You looked at your sensei wide-eyed. "How did you know about that?" You asked in a hushed tone.

"To be completely honest, I was there at the bar last night when you were performing, and I must say, I was rather impressed." He glanced over at you before continuing." As far as the mission goes, we have to escort a man by the name of Aki Akio. He is a large distributor to our village, he brings us food, clothes, etc. We need to make sure he makes it back to his homeland safely. This is a C-rank mission, but it may turn into a B-rank at any given time. I need you to be in tip-top shape, okay (y/n)?" Kakashi looked at you as you slowly nodded your head.

"The only time I lose is when I die." You said flatly before standing up. "I will always protect the people that are close to me and will always give every battle my all, no matter what the outcome may be for me. That's my nindo. My ninja way." You finished while smiling and blushing at your sensei. You put a hand to your face and looked down. Your heart was racing and you didn't want to embarrass yourself by stuttering like an idiot.You had caught him off guard. You didn't know it, but seeing you smile like that made Kakashi's face heat up. He pulled up his mask and looked towards the ground.

"Why don't you go home and get some rest (y/n), be at the gate at eight am sharp." He stood up and handed you the book that had fallen onto the ground. You nodded and gently took the book from his hands.

"T-thank you Kakashi sensei! I'll see you t-tomorrow!" As quickly as the words left your mouth, you were gone, a few curse words could be heard as you ran down the path. You were upset with yourself for letting yourself stutter but at least you had a mission to look forward to. You always got excited about missions. Kakashi chuckled to himself as he watched you run away, shaking his head in the process before turning his attention back to the trio. He took a deep breath before walking over to try and attempt to help them with the task he had given. This was going to be a long day.
