It had been one day since Kakashi made his departure, and you were doing a little bit better than you were the day before. Sasuke had carried you to the home Naruto and him were sharing. The two boys were worried about you, your crying had died down after an hour or two, but you seemed to become emotionless. You had left the morning after, deciding you weren't going to bother the two with your depressed self.
So, here you were, sitting in your bed, wearing one of Kakashi's sweatshirts and cuddling a pillow. You felt so useless at the moment. When Kakashi was here, you felt like you had a greater purpose. You always felt like he was your lucky charm and your motivation. The more you laid there in that bed, the more you wanted to get back out in the field. You kind of felt like you were missing out on something, something that everyone could benefit from.
You already knew Kakashi wouldn't be happy with the decision you were going to make, but, once you had made up your mind, that was the end of it. You were going to go down to the Hokage's office and take up that teaching position. You could help train new genin and help out Naruto like he's been asking.
You just had to get out of bed and make yourself presentable and maybe, just maybe, you could start doing something with your life besides sitting around in a dark home. You remembered the saying, "Don't make promises when you're happy, don't reply when you're angry and don't make decisions when you're sad." It was something your mother had told you when you were having a really bad day while training. It had always stuck with you, but you couldn't help but ignore it. This was something you felt you desperately needed to do, even if you were making this decision while depressed.
"That's it, time to get out of this bed," You sat up in the bed, shaking the covers off of you, and you stood up. The first thing you were going to do was clean up the place and open the curtains. And that's exactly what you did, you started with cleaning the bedroom, picking up Kakashi's various clothing items and placing them in the hamper. Next, you made the bed, placing the bigger pillows on your side since Kakashi wasn't there to steal them.
"This might be fun...I could decorate the way I want to. That'll be a big surprise for him when he gets back." You smirked to yourself when you had finished making the bed. "Perfect," You whispered to yourself admiring your quick work, but you stopped smiling when you felt your stomach start to growl.
'Shit. I need to eat, I haven't eaten anything since yesterday morning,' You scurried off to the kitchen and pulled out some of the instant ramen Naruto had given you a few days prior. You put a pot of water on the stove and put it on high heat, desperate to get something in your stomach.
'Ding dong'
Your head snapped towards the door, and you immediately sensed Gai sensei's chakra, along with Jiraiya's. 'Weird...Never thought those two would be in the same room together?' You walked over to the door and opened it up revealing both men holding various grocery bags with enormous smiles on their faces. You gave them a soft smile.
"It's been ages, please come inside." You opened the door wider, allowing both men inside of the relatively empty house.
"You guys didn't have to do all of this, really." You walked to the kitchen, where they were currently putting stuff away. "Nonsense! You're carrying my best friend's child! I couldn't sit back and not help this beautiful display of youth!" Gai had half-yelled at you causing you to let out a small laugh. It really had been a long time since the two of you had talked, his energy could make anyone feel better. He always had enough happiness to give to everyone and anyone who needed it.
"Same here kiddo. Plus I had a feeling you needed to talk to someone, so here I am. I also have a pretty good idea of what it is too." You gulped, nodding at him. "Well, that's all I came here to do. It was nice seeing you again (Y/n), you should come to one of my training sessions with Lee, exercising is good for the baby!" Gai punched the air above his head, excitement rushing through his body.
