My mother gasped in shock."Jessica Marie Cade, march yourself up to your room right this instant!" she shrieked.
"No mom! For once I would like to be able to do what I want! I am a teenager for Christ's sake! I'm not listening to you anymore! And please stop calling me Jessica, I hate it!" I cried.
"I am your mother and you will do as I say. You are only 13 years old, young lady. You are grounded for a whole month."
"No! You are always ruining my life. You can't tell me how to live, and if I want to be happy, I will. But I will never be happy here with you, and that's that." I yelled. I stormed out of the living room into the front yard.
Sitting on the curb, I began to cry. She can't take me away from them. They're all I have, she just doesn't understand.

My name is Jessica Marie Cade, but everyone calls me Jessie or Jess. I'm 17, the twin sister of Johnny and kid sister of Addie Cade. I'm a part of the Curtis' East Side gang.
In the gang there's me, Johnny, Addie, Darry Curtis, Ponyboy Curtis, Sodapop Curtis, Two-Bit Matthews, Steve Randle, Dally Winston , Layla Ray, and Carter Winston. We were all born into the gang, except for Layla. She is Two-Bit's adopted sister, but we treat her as our own.
I'm the second oldest girl in the group, and if I'm not drinking or eating I'm getting in an argument with some Soc.
Johnny is a nervous wreck. He smokes a lot to calm his stress, but ever since he got jumped he's gotten so bad that he's scared of his own shadow. Our parents ain't real nice to him either, he gets the most beating out of us three. Johnny, Addie and me wouldn't know what love and affection were if it weren't for the gang.
Addie is Darry's girlfriend, and my older sister. She doesn't like to smoke or drink, she's responsible like Darry. She's the best mother figure any of us got.
Pony is the youngest boy, and one of the best friends you could have. He's sad for too many reasons I can count. He's in love with movies, and usually got his nose in a book.
Soda is the middle Curtis kid, and my boyfriend. He's the only person I know who gets high off of plain living. He never knows how to stay still unless he's sleeping or working on cars at the DX.
Two-Bit got his nickname from all the jokes he makes, he always has to get his 'two bits of sense' into every situation. He's got a thing for Mickey Mouse that he's had since he was real little. He's always the life of the party, especially when he gets drunk, which is frequent.
Darry is the oldest in the gang. He's the most mature and strict most of the time, but Addie keeps him grounded. He's got more worries than he used to since their parents died, but he cares for everyone as if we are his own kids.
Steve is the second most immature one. He loves eating cake, especially Addie's chocolate cake. He works at the DX with Soda. He knows cars back to front, upside down and inside out. He thinks anybody younger than him is just an annoying kid, especially Pony and Layla.
Dally's been in the cooler a few times. He's real cold and mean if you don't know him, but he can get into his feelings and you can see the real Dallas Winston if he warms up to you. He's been cheated on a few times, and his dad don't care about him much, but he tries not to let it affect him.
Layla is the youngest girl, and Pony's girlfriend. She's real quiet, and she doesn't do half of the things that we do, she's been like that since she was born apparently. She's real into books like Pony, but not so much movies, she likes to make up her own little image in her head.
Carter is Johnny's girlfriend and Dally's little sister. She has worries of her own, but they keep each other sane. She smokes, and drinks every once in a while. Dally is real protective over her when nobody but us are looking, to keep his image intact.
The relationships in this gang can seem complicated to any outsiders, but it's pretty simple to us. They just don't understand, but we understand and love each other, that's why it works so well.
I couldn't ask for anything better, I can't see myself anywhere else. My family is here, this is where I belong.

The outsiders is such a good movie, and I thought that maybe I should write something based off of it, so this is my character Jessie Cade's view of being a greaser girl.
This is going to follow the story line of the original book pretty close, so be prepared for that! I just of course put a little twist on things <3
