i walked through the halls of school and everyone was staring. I didn't understand why. I looked down at my shorts and shirt everything seemed to be fine. But i heard them muttering "freak" and "what is she" and i knew they must be talking about me. I looked behind me and there I saw them. My wings, floating along behind me like a flag in the wind, and i screamed.
*beep* *beep*
My alarm clock woke me up from my dream, sweat hot on my forehead. I was breathing deeply as I looked over at the alarm clock to see the time, remembering that it was the first day of school I jumped out of bed to take a shower.
After I was done I threw some anti-frizz crème in my hair, combed it a few times and went back into my room. I threw on a sweatshirt and went downstairs to grab some breakfast.
"morning Taylor"
"morning Lily, ready for your first day of junior year?"
"you bet!"
"good girl!"
"thanks bro, have fun at work!"
I put my dishes in the dishwasher and raced upstairs to get dressed. When I got to my room my cell was ringing, looking at the picture on the front I saw that it was Alice.
"Hey Lily!"
"Hey Alice! I can't wait to see you!"
"Same! Hey listen I forgot to tell you at the mall but I got a car from my parents so I'm driving you to school!"
"Omg yay!!!" i yelled "I'm so excited! When will you be here?"
"Probably at 7:10 since school starts at 7:30 and we don't want to be late on the first day"
"Ok, see you soon girl!!"
"Bye Lily"
I hung up the phone and looked at the clock 6:45 ok so I had some time to get ready.
I went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth. I checked my hair in the mirror and combed it a few times to make sure it looked OK. I decided to leave it alone today since it was pretty straight naturally. I put on my eyeliner and mascara.
I then went back to my room to throw on my dress. For shoes I put on my favorite silver sandals.
I grabbed my book bag and began to put in some binders and my schedule. At 7:09 the doorbell rang. I threw my bag on and grabbed my phone before walking out the door.
"Hey Alice" I called as I got in the car. "Lets go get this junior year started!"
