The Secret of Wings

Chapter 8

Hey guys. Sorry its been over a week since my last upload. I've had so much to do with my team and I had a meet all day yesterday but I'm finally sitting down to write this, well actually im supposed to be writing an essay right now but what ever, this is more fun. :)

I was soaring high up in the mountains near my town when my phone began to ring. I leaned forward and flew downward reaching the ground and grabbed my phone out of my pocket. I didn't recognize the number but I answered anyway.

"Hello? Who is this?" I asked.

"Hey, Lily? Its Sam." The person replied.

Oh right, our project. I had completely forgotten that I had given him my number earlier.

"Oh, Hey. what's up?"

"When do you want to work on that physics project?" He asked.

"Well you know I'm busy tomorrow night but I'm free most of tomorrow. I'm also free right now if you want to just get it done tonight." I replied.

"Actually yeah let's just do it now." he said. "We can work on it at my house."

"Ok. um, I'm going to need your address." I said.

"Oh yeah. Can I just txt it to you?"

"Yeah that's good. See you in a little." I said as I hung up.

My phone dinged and I checked to see that he had sent me his address before I kicked off the ground and started towards home.

I open the front door and look inside.

"Hunter!" I yelled.

"Yeah?" He replied from the living room.

I walked in.

"Hey. I have to go work on some school project at this kids house. Can you take me in a few minutes?"

"Yeah."

"Thanks bro" I said as I headed upstairs to change.

It was still really hot out even though it was already 4:30 so I grabbed a pair of denim shorts and a loose white flowered crop top and threw on a pair of flip flops.

I stuffed by physics book into a bag along with some pens and paper and headed back downstairs.

"Let's go Hunter" I called from the front door.

"Coming" He said. Walking over to me.

We headed outside and got into the car as I have him the address.

"I think this is it" He said. Pulling up in front of a large white house.

"Ok" I said.

I hopped out of the car and headed up the walkway to the front door. I pressed on the doorbell and I could hear it buzzing inside.
I waited for a few seconds and then the door swung open. Revealing a woman who must be his mom.

"Hi dear" she said happily. "You must be Lily. My son told me you would be coming over."

"Yeah. That's me" I said, smiling at her. She seemed really nice.

"Do you think you'll be staying for dinner?" She asked. "I told Sam to ask you but he probably didn't, knowing him" She laughed.

"Nope, he never mentioned it." I said laughing too. "But dinner would be great because I think this project is going to take a while."

"No problem dear." She said. "Sam is up in his room by the way. It's on the third floor" She pointed at the staircase in front of me as she spoke.

"Great thanks. Better go get this project done with, it was nice to meet you." I said, heading up the stairs.

I reached the third floor and looked around. There were two rooms and this little window seat that was just right off the hallway. I walked over to peak out at the view.

"Lily? What are you doing?" Sam asked from behind me, chuckling.

I spun around.

"Um just looking at the view, it's really nice..." I said.

"Well my room is over here" He said, pointing at one of the two doors. "Come on."

I followed him over and walked inside. It was huge. He had a full screen tv mounted on one wall right across from his bed which must have been at least a queen size bed. The room itself was a dark blue color and was lit by four large windows, one which looked as though it led out to a balcony. Geeze his family must be rich.

He laughed again and I realized I was probably just staring at his room.

"Oh yeah, um.... Let's get to work?" I said.

He gestured towards the bed where I now saw he had a laptop and his textbook.

"Yeah. Let's get started."
