"I thought you were supposed to throw me to the lions," you muttered to the men holding you.

Apparently trying to sneak around a freak show grounds wasn't going down very well as one of the acts had some really freaky hearing. You hadn't even tried to take that much either, just a little bit of money. Now you had come face to face with some weird hairy crocodile, the door to its cage locked behind you as the beast stirred from its sleep, shaking its head as you looked around slightly. It looked like it would easily snap you in half with a single bite.

"Who are you?" a low growl erupted from the mouth of the beast and you actually had to check the animal was talking and not some one else trying to mess with you. Holy shit this was weird.

"Nobody," you replied with a slight shrug and turned your attention to the lock of the cage, making sure your kind guests were long gone before crouching down to examine the lock, peering through the hole before sighing slightly. This would be a piece of cake.

Aside from the snarling monster behind you, he wasn't being all that convient at the moment. Although you assumed it would be much worse if this circus had lions. They weren't nearly as... vocal.

You turned to him noticing how close he was, you hadn't even heard him move. But it honestly couldn't have bothered you, even if he was looking at you like you were his next meal. All you could to was tilt your head and cock an eyebrow in dismissal before walking past him to a pile of bones, gingerly picking through them with a frown of disgust.

"I'm using these," you explained as you picked up to rather dine bones and walked past him right back to the lock.

It only gave another growl, swinging its heavy tail to land right beside you with a thud, kicking up dust on the ground and making you cough slightly.

"Was that supposed to be threatening," you muttered, not bothering to hide how unimpressed you were, voice dripping with boredom.

He only snarled in response and you could feel his breath on the back of your neck, not to mention smell it, rotten meat.

"Listen, I know you're some sort of super scary creature. But I'm getting out of here. If you want out too you'd be smart and not crush my skull in your disgusting smelling mouth," you sighed and turned to glare at it, catching the unfiltered whiff of how bad it smelt.

"Seriously get some mouth wash or something," you sighed and watched in mild surprise as it turned and curls up on the dirty floor, watching you in what seemed like annoyance.

"You're not scared?" it asked, its voice still deep, low and gravelly, "Why?"

You shrugged slightly, not really sure yourself as you set to work on picking the lock, listening carefully for the click and feeling around for the little bumps.

"Nothing really scares me anymore," you muttered, it was the truth. You hadn't really been afraid in as long as you could remember. It was illogical anyway, fear clouded the mind and made you somewhat unable to act without making stupid decisions.

"It says on the freak show posters that you're some sort of super reptile. Can't you just break out?" you questioned eventually, getting to the last locking mechanism.

"No," was all it replied, sounding somewhat grumpy like a huffing child.

"Okay then," you shrugged, as the lock clicked open and you pushed the cage door open with a squeak and looked back at the lizard.

"Magic," you grinned, and stood, watching as the monster followed your actions, shaking the long hair on its body as it did so. Something like a dog after getting out of water.

The lizard looked around gingerly as it stepped out of the cage then up at you, moments later grunting and tearing his gaze away in annoyance.

"You don't know where you're going, do you?" you questioned mockingly only gaining a slight snap to the ankles, you pushed his snout away with your heal as he sighed in exasperation. Maybe this giant grumpy lizard wasn't so bad.

"I guess you'll have to stick with me for a while until you get out of the city, huh?" you grinned with a smirk, making your way into the nearby ally ways and far away from the freak show, the lizard only padding along behind you a dark look on his face.

"Don't eat me and I'll get you out of here, deal?" you raised an eyebrow in his direction.

He snarled slightly before shaking his fur out again and nodding slightly, "Yeah... deal."
