Upon disappearing and reappearing miles away from Scotland, my confidence to follow through with my plans strengthened. The cold stone somberly greeted me as I journeyed through the haunting castle. Like clattering hooves of a horse, my hasty steps echoed throughout the fortress's empty corridors. Without a guiding soft light, I made my way around and reached a prison-like room that radiated dark magic. Trepidation wavered within me for a second until I quelled it and controlled my emotions. Tightly, I gripped the leather handle of my gnarled wand and took a calming breath. "Bombarda!" I shouted and the door cracked off its hinges with a cloud of dust and rubble.

Into the room, I walked and saw him. Now was my moment; I needed to begin somewhere in detaching myself from my first love. "A prisoner in your own abode," I hissed as the blond head of hair looked up at me with a smirk.

"Dear young Maven," cooed the dark voice and my senses quivered.

Stay strong old girl, I thought to myself and straightened my posture. He's just a man.

"Back again? How like you."

"SPARE ME YOUR PITY, GELLERT!" I yelled at the prisoner.

Isolated from the world and unable to work his magic, my lover had grown sickeningly pale and his long blond hair now had streaks of white. However, his bright blue eyes glittered with youth and cunning. "Why are you here girl?" Gellert asked and stood.

"I need your books," I replied flatly and held my wand tighter. The once handsome man chuckled deeply and licked his withering lips with a malicious grin.

"What is in it for me?" Grindelwald replied; I bet he hoped to woo me into freeing him, but I had tried my magic against the magic that imprisoned him before and had failed every time.

"Hmm, it's amusing how many years without me it took you to finally notice the pleasure I gave you. No, Gellert, I am not here for you, not anymore. I am here for information." I growled seeing the lust in his eyes as he took a step closer to me. In my mind's eye, the aging wizard's image was flickering with how he once looked, irresistibly attractive to the eyes. My jaw clenched and I pointed my crudely carved wand at him menacingly. "Give me the books, or I will kill you."

A laugh darker than the dimly lit room resounded from the wizard. "Maven, you will never understand anything, will you? You could never kill me."

"DAMMIT GELLERT GIVE ME THE BOOKS!" I shouted and prepared to perform an Unforgivable Curse.

"GO AHEAD! TRY AND KILL ME! IT WILL ONLY BACKFIRE ON YOU!" Grindelwald spat and came close to me.

No matter how much I wanted to harm him, I knew he was correct. As my first love, Gellert was master of the purest gift I had to give, my love and my virginity. A line creased between my eyebrows as I glared at him. "One day you will die, Gellert, and I can only hope it is by the hand of a Riddle."

With my patience running thin, I moved slightly to the door, but the dark wizard spoke again. "You'll find the books with Dumbledore," he croaked.

"Why are you telling me this?"

"If anyone should have them, it should be the followers of dark magic. Albus has no right to possess those books and I cannot get to them. So it must be you." Gellert admitted and backed away from me. "However, I highly advise you that if it's power you want, the Deathly Hallows will give it to you. Those books are only a stepping stone to what the Deathly Hallows can give."

"I'm not going to waste what life I have left on a fairy tale," I sneered and turned for the door.

"Maven, a metamorphamgus like you has so much potential; you are virtually immortal. Don't let that go to waste."

Swiftly, I turned around and I struck Grindelwald with a whip conjured from the end of my wand. A deafening scream filled the hollow chamber as the wizard crashed against the stone. One of my heeled boots dug into Gellert's back as I shoved him further to the cold floor. Blood oozed from the broken skin of my whip's wound while I pressed harder on his back with my foot. "Let that be a reminder of who you are dealing with now." I hushed with a sinister smile. The shock on his face made me warm inside. I held my conjured whip on the back of his neck. "I am not a waste."

Then, I punctured his lower back with my stiletto and watched his pain with sickening pleasure. A flap of wings brought my attention to the doorway, where Avenger stood, narrow-eyed and rigid. Like a snake, I hissed at Gellert and Disapparated back to Hogsmeade with a snap.
