Agent Alaska: Ghost (Red vs Blue)

Chapter 7

We only had to walk for an hour before we reached the canyon wall Locus was talking about. It was about 60 feet up, so Carolina had to get the cable guns ready for her and Zander. I had Beta make sure my Teleport enhancement will be able to jump the distance, but then again: I teleported from falling through the air and into a moving Pelican.

"Hey Lina." I heard Zander whisper as I check out the canyon walls for the perfect climbing spot. "How exactly are we going to discuss about the actual master plan of Control with one of their lead Mercs here?"

"Relax Zander." Carolina says calmly, still prepping the hooks. "She's not who you thing she is."

"But even so. How can we trust her?" He asks.

"I trust her with my life." She finishes the last hook and calls to me. "Alaska, hooks are ready."

"Alaska?" Zander says confused.

"Nice work C. I think I found a good spot to climb." I say walking over.

"C?" Zander asks in complete wonder.

Carolina and I look at each other. "You told him who we are?"

"I was about to." She replied.

"Well I'm taking over. This is Agent Carolina and I'm Agent Alaska." I say to Zander. "We work together and with the Reds and Blues."

"Those are state names.. so you both are Freelancers." He says in awe.

Carolina chuckles. "Well... I guess you can say that."

"There's another Freelancer named Agent Washington, but he is with the Reds and Blues." I informed him.

"Yea and he's also your boyfriend." Carolina teases.

"Shut up and that's an order." I tell her in a playful tone which makes Carolina laugh.

"Anyways Zander, we will be taking about the master plan of Control once we are up this wall." I assured him. He looks at me relieved that he doesn't have to worry about slipping up information when he's not supposed to.

"Cable guns and hooks are all set." Carolina hands Zander a cable gun. Zander looks over at me and sees that I don't have a cable gun. But since he saw me fall out of a Pelican without a parachute, he doesn't question my motives. With a nod to Carolina, he shoots his hook and cable up. In the matter of seconds, he is climbing up the mountain. Carolina then shoots her's and follows in suit.

"Everything ready Beta?" She appears besides me. "Everything is ready, but we are going to have to make a few jumps to get up since the enhancement took a direct hit during the crash. Some jumps you will have to use your thrusters so that the Teleport has some time to cool."

The reason why I hate crashing ships. "Alright... Let get this over with." I say. I actually don't like climbing mountain or cliffs. It's the fear of losing your footing and it could send you tumbling down to your death. One of the reasons why I chose Teleport as my enhancement: to NOT do this.

"Never again." I lay flat on my back. I finally reached the top of the canyon wall after not a few jumps but like 10 jumps and not even half of them were teleported jumps.

"I should of just grabbed a cable gun." I groaned.

Carolina tsks. "Told you so."

"Since when?!" I whined. Zander is laughing in the background.

She kneels down beside me. "Since the Project."

"The Project?"
