Napa tingin ako sa mama ni Darren. my eyes wide from the sudden confrontation

“Wag ka mag alala, hindi naman kita dadalhin sa dad mo. I just don’t understand why you ran away, and claimed a different life. You also did no used your father’s last name. Di ba si President Hermano Ariniego ang ama mo?”

I stayed motionless.

“it’s okay.. you don’t have to tell me. But if you want to have a good relationship with my son, you better tell him  the truth. And, I like you so much for him.”

“hindi naman po nya ako girlfriend eh.” Pagdadahilan ko

“sabi nya malapit na daw eh.” His mom said

“aba!!nauna pa sya sumagot para sa akin ah!! Kapag nakita ko yun babatuk-“ I didn’t get to finish what I’m saying.

“Basta, whatever happens, remember that he can be the most caring person you can meet. Trust me. Some other girl just don’t know how to appreciate. Sana, iba ka sa kanya.” Then she walked away

“sino kaya?” tanong ko sa sarili ko.

Bumalik nalang ako sa kwarto. Saka ko naramdaman ang sakit ng katawan at pagod. Kapag pala na shock ka, mawawala ka nlang sa sarili mo. It’s been years since I’ve last her his name.

“Pres. Hermano Ariniego”

My dad.

My sister, who died.. is named Allesana Raine Ariniego. My real name? Kyle Nicole Ariniego. We are daughters of the most famous business man in all of the Philippines. My mom, chose to stay low profile. She chose to live in a small two-story house, giving us a normal life.

Pero iba si dad. He likes the fame, fortune and luxury. Although he’s the best dad I could possibly have.  He’s caring and will do everything for Allesana and me. Dati, ipapa cancel nya lahat ng meeting nya, makasama lang kami ni Allesana. He loves us. He cares.

My mom is another story.

Si mama, beauty queen. She won miss universe. Galing no? She wants a normal life, but has a huge dream. Yung magka anak din na beauty queen. Ate is the epitomy of an angel.  Maganda, mataas, magandang kutis.. perfection. Ako, I was never pretty. Sa ibang books, ugly duckling pa ang tawag nila. Hindi naman ako pangit.

Hindi lang talaga ako maihahambing sa ganda ng ate ko. Bata palang ako, mas pinamumukha na sakin ni mama na si ate ang maganda. Pero kay daddy, ako ang pinaka magandang bunso nya.

Their marriage isn’t perfect. Mostly, there are big stones ahead everyday. And when I was 7, my mom and dad broke up. Hindi sumuko si dad sa custody para samin, In fact, he spent a lot of money to get me and my sister. Pero dahil bata pa kami, mom won the trial.

Na inlove sya sa isang Filipino british na nag ngangalang Walter Herrera. True enough, nagpakasal sila. Me and Allesana was out of the picture. There are nights na kami nalang ang magkasama, kasi umaalis si mama lagi kasama ang bago nyang asawa. Higit sa lahat lalo kaming naging parang ibang tao sa bahay nung nanganak si mama ng kambal.

Umalis sila papuntang England at naiwan nanaman kami ni ate. At dahil galit si mama kay daddy, she never allowed us to go to his place. Ibinilin nya kami sa katulong. We were left there, with no one. Tumakas kami ni Allesana habang tulog ang katulong namin. I asked her to take me to daddy. Because I’m feeling so alone.  She was 9, I was 7.
