Chapter 12- Vytal For The Festival

Months later, the Vytal Festival Tournament was on. It was now Team SVRN's turn against their rivals Team FLVS consisting of Falcona, Linda Lewis aka Lady Lark, Viv Vision, and Satana Hellstrom of Haven Academy. Falcona was the leader and her semblance was communication of spiritual and actual birds. Lady Lark's semblance was the creating bird wings on her back and supersonic screams. Viv Vision was a synthezoid like her Avenger father Vision and shared his powers of intangibility, super strength, flight, and able to shoot energy with a jewel on her forehead. Satana's semblance was fire manipulation and magic hexes. The audience cheered wildly as Sergei Kravinoff and Maria Crawford watched proudly. Sergei smiled, "Calypso, looks like Team SVRN is doing is doing well." Maria agreed, "YOU taught them well. What would they be without your guidance?" Sergei reminded, "Let us not forget you play a role in this team's effectiveness." Maria nodded as she held Sergei's hand.

Hector Jones and Gwen Stacy were watching the Vytal Festival on their TV until Hector's scroll rang. Hector sighed, "I'll be right back." He picked it up as he asked, "¿Hola? ¿Quien es este?" His eyes widened as he smiled, "Mamá? Shane? It has been a while. How are things?" Hector listened as he replied, "Gwen and I have been doing well. We're watching the Vytal Festival on our television." Hector listened to his mother as he answered, "Yes, I will come back for dinner in a couple days. Can Gwen come?" Hector smiled, "Gracias, mamá. See ya soon. Especially you, Shane." Gwen asked, "What was that your mom?" Hector nodded, "Sí. Mamá invited us for dinner in a couple days." Gwen asked, "Isn't she at Atlas?" Hector answered, "Sí. You don't mind?" Gwen smiled, "Sure. I'd like to see Naoko and Shane again. I can't wait to hear more of your embarrassing stories and trade recipes with her again." Hector asked, "Embarrassing stories?!" Gwen giggled as Hector asked, "What has Mamá told you about me?!"

Spider-Man fought against Lady Lark, Venus fought against Falcona, Ricochet tried his hand with Viv, and Nightingale matched herself against Satana.

Spider-Man dodged the blasting screams from Lady Lark and suddenly sensed rumbling under his feet. Spider-Man backflipped away as a column shot up and it got blown to pieces by Lady Lark. Lady Lark inhaled and was about to blast a scream at Spider-Man but he did a right handspring as he webbed up her mouth. Lady Lark looked at her mouth as she exchanged a dirty look at Spider-Man. He then quickly shot a impact web ball at Lady Lark as she was tangled up by webs. "Looks like it's a wrap for Lady Lark," announced Oobleck. Port shook his head in annoyance.

Venus Deterzo was twirling her energized bullwhip as Falcona summoned spiritual bird after spiritual bird at her. Venus backflipped onto a column as she saw a spiritual hawk soar toward her. Venus instantly leaped away as the hawk was disintegrated by a light copy of Venus. Falcona kept throwing various spiritual birds of prey at Venus who going from column to column and using light copies of herself. Finally Venus twirled her whip as it coiled around Falcona's legs and made her fall on her back. Venus then leaped up in the air as she pulled Falcona up. Both Venus and Falcona were up in the air. Venus uncoiled her whip making Falcona spin. Venus kicked her down as the Chimera cat Faunus then coiled her whip to a column and pulled herself toward it. She got onto the column's side and jumped toward the falling Falcona as she kicked her toward the center of the arena. "Now there's two left on Team FLVS," announced Port.

Ricochet threw countless discs at Viv but it was proving to be very difficult due to her intangibility. The discs bounced aimlessly through her. Viv then shot an energy beam from her jeweled forehead as Ricochet dodged it. "Looks like Ricochet has bit of challenge, eh, Peter?" commented Oobleck. Port nodded, "Yes indeed, Doctor. Viv Vision shares the same semblance as her Avenger father, Vision."

Nightingale dodged and shielded herself from Satana's fiery blasts. Satana then threw a fiery hex bolt at Nightingale but flipped away from it as she shot a couple mystical arrows. Satana used a fiery hex shield as the arrows dissolved away. Nightingale turned her bow into a katana sword as she rushed toward Satana. Satana then formed a fiery katana sword of her own and rushed toward Nightingale. The two exchanged blows with their swords as Venus rushed in to join Nightingale. Satana summoned a fiery shield as she stood ready. Satana parried Nightingale's blows while blocking Venus' whiplashes. Venus then finally coiled her whip around Satana's sword and pulled it out from her grip. Nightingale then did a backflip kick on Satana. She walked back dazed but blocked a flying kick from Venus with her shield but was too late to react as Nightingale did a spin kick that knocked Satana out. "Excellent and brilliant teamwork by Venus Deterzo and Nightingale!" commented Oobleck. "Kraven the Hunter indeed taught them well! As for Satana Hellstrom, she is out of the battle and only one member from Team FLVS is left."

Spider-Man joined with Ricochet as they both fought against Viv. Their reflexes dodged Viv's energy beams but Viv could always get herself intangible every time they try to hit her and at any time she could get herself tangible to hit them. Spider-Man and Ricochet panted as they sensed a column was about to pop up as they both flew up in the air and held on. The column surprised Viv but did not stop her as she levitated around to find her opponents.

"What do we do?" asked Ricochet. Spider-Man replied, "Enough single attacks. Let's go for the teamwork tactics Kraven taught us." Ricochet nodded, "Let's do it."

Viv finally stopped as Spider-Man and Ricochet began their move. Ricochet then threw a disc at Viv which went through while Spider-Man leaped over Viv while shooting a web line to the disc and threw at her in midair. The disc went through Viv as she blasted an energy beam at Spider-Man who quickly made a web shield. Ricochet caught the disc as it hit Viv on the back of her head. Viv turned to Ricochet and blasted at him. He did a couple back handsprings while dodging the beams. While Viv was distracted, Spider-Man then shot an impact web ball on her which entangled her with webs. Spider-Man then flipped over Viv while shooting and attached two web lines on the web cocooned Viv. Spider-Man took the two web lines in hand as he landed next to Ricochet and handed one of the web lines to him. They ran to the sides as they attached the web lines to two descending columns forcing Viv down. Viv stopped struggling as she was stuck.

Port announced, "Team SVRN wins the match!" The audience cheered wildly including Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long. Ruby cheered, "Yay, Spidey!" Weiss nodded, "Outstanding job." Blake applauded, "Impressive work." Yang exclaimed, "Oh, yeah!"

Team SVRN stood together as the crowd continued to cheer. Venus wrapped her limbs around Spider-Man as he chuckled, "Must you always do that?" Venus smiled, "Yep!" She rubbed her head on Spider-Man's neck and purred. Ricochet put his arm around Nightingale as she smiled and hugged his side while putting her head on his chest.
