Six Months Later...

Peter Parker adjusted well with his life after abandoning his Spider-Man identity. Sure, there were times where he still felt mournful but he moved on without a care in the world. Nowadays Peter's main focus is paying his rent to his landlady Dr. Naoko Yamada-Jones so he could have a roof over his head. He had two part time jobs. One was as a pizza delivery guy and a photographer for the Daily Bugle. His friend Hector Jones, the heroic Green Goblin, was still continuing his fight against crime. When Peter had time on his break, he would either play video games with Shane or often fix his bicycle's wheels. There was one time where Peter was spinning one of the wheels and it accidentally flew off the bicycle and broke one of Naoko's favorite vases. Luckily Naoko was forgiving of Peter. It was an accident after all.

Right now, Peter was on his way to the Daily Bugle and he was ordering a hot dog with ketchup. Then he saw a couple police cruisers with a few officers running past him. Peter watched them as he shrugged nonchalantly and took a bite out of his hot dog. He then finished his hot dog as he went inside the Daily Bugle building. There Peter met with Betty Brant, J. Jonah Jameson's secretary. "Hey, Jameson wanted to see me?" said Peter. Betty smiled and nodded, "Okay, Peter. Go on in." Peter walked inside of Jameson's office where he met with J. Jonah Jameson and Joseph "Robbie" Robertson. He also saw his former Spider-Man suit on a glass display. "Impressive, isn't it, Parker?" asked Jameson. "That menace giving up his long charade of pretending to be a hero." Peter shrugged, "Yeah, I'm sure." Robbie shook his head as he sighed, "Still can't believe that he gave up." Peter reminded, "Well Jameson turned the public against Spider-Man and what happened at Vale affected a lot of people." Jameson smiled, "Turning the public against that Spider-Menace is a fact that I'm proud of." Peter asked, "So why did you call me, Mr. Jameson?" Jameson replied, "The Schnee Family is planning a fundraiser for the reconstruction of Vale and I need a photographer. There's also talk of the heiress Weiss Schnee going to sing at the fundraiser and I need photos of that, too. Think you can handle that?" Peter nodded, "Yes, Mr. Jameson." Jameson replied, "Good, 'cause I expect you to be there that night. Also here's your Daily Bugle pass. Don't lose it." Peter nodded as he took the pass and left the office. Jameson then looked at the Spider-Man suit display as he smirked, "The power of press drove him away. The menace Spider-Man. Now all of Remnant will never have to hear of his existence again." Robbie frowned, "I remember. There was that one time when you announced him being an alien leader stoked on taking over the world." Jameson replied, "Oh, yeah. Aliens under the shadows with Spider-Man powers. Figured there had to be a connection. Guess he was a menace even without those aliens." Robbie huffed, "Yet Spider-Man and his team were fighting them." Jameson countered, "Yeah, either stabbing them in the back or what they supposedly wanted us to see. Doesn't matter now, since that wall-crawling freak is done for." Robbie shook his head as he looked at the display with sorrow.

Peter Parker smiled as he thought, 'My first real photography assignment. Fingers crossed of much I'll get to take those pictures at the fundraiser.' Then a couple girls saw him and smiled at him. Peter blushed shyly as the girls walked pass him while giggling amongst themselves. Peter then frowned as he remembered when he and Venus used to be inseparable. Heck, even remembered their engagement. Then Peter found out the Venus he was with was a clone with the Anti-Venom symbiote. He still loved her, either way. Peter sometimes still hoped to be reunited with the real Venus Deterzo even though it has been six months. 'If I'm going to go to that fundraiser, I need to find something appropriate to wear,' thought Peter as he continued to walk.

Shane was watching the Spider-Man movie when Peter walked inside. Peter smiled as he remembered when he and his old teammates went to the movie studio with Sam Webb. "Hey, Shane, what are you watching?" asked Peter. Shane replied, "The Spider-Man movie by Sam Webb. They messed up the Goblin. He's supposed to be a good guy." Peter agreed, "Yeah. But the Hobgoblin, now that's a bad guy." Shane nodded, "Yeah." Gwen Stacy came out of the kitchen as she asked, "Hey, Naoko said that she is going to work a double shift, so I'm cooking dinner tonight. Anyone up for my famous chicken alfredo?" Peter smiled, "Sounds great, Gwen." Gwen smiled back, "Glad you think so, Peter." Peter announced, "The Daily Bugle got me into a very big photo op job." Gwen asked, "Really? What is it?" Peter answered, "The Schnee Family is planning a fundraiser and J. Jonah Jameson needs a photographer there. And that's me." Gwen admired, "That's nice, but you're going to need something nice to wear at that party. The Schnees aren't going to let you in just because you're a photographer for the Daily Bugle." Peter nodded, "Yeah, which is why I've been saving a lot in between paying rent money and photography assignments." Gwen smiled as she got started making dinner and Shane continued to watch the Spider-Man movie. Peter sighed and smiled knowing that nothing was worrying him.
