Peter walked on his way home as he couldn't help but think about what happened when Weiss Schnee summoned that Boarbatusk in the middle of that party. Especially when his first instinct was to press on his watch, thinking it was the same watch that had his nanobot Spider-Man suit. Peter shook it off thinking, 'My life has been nothing but perfect since I quit being Spider-Man. I seriously need to start reminding myself that I am still in my hero retirement card.' Then suddenly an old woman's voice said to him, "My dear boy, who ever said everything is supposed to be perfect?" Peter turned around and asked, "Who said that?" He saw a giant shadow of a spider on its web as the old woman's voice replied, "I did." Peter asked, "Who's there? Who are you?" The voice responded, "The real question is... Who. Are. You?" Then the old woman's voice laughed as the shadow disappeared and Peter started running but was stopped by a gust of wind blowing a few papers around him. One flew on his face as Peter pulled it off to see it have a picture of an old woman with strange looking shades in the middle of red ink and black webbing. It said, "Madame Web Tarot Reading." Peter thought, 'What's this? Some phony fortune teller?" Wind blew the paper out of his hands as the old woman's voice repeated, "Phony? What? Ha! You're the real phony!" Peter asked, "How did you know what I was thinking?" He turned to see Madame Web's face appear on a wall as she answered, "I know more than your trivial thoughts, Spider-Man." Peter lied, "I'm not Spider-Man!" Madame Web frowned, "You are a terrible liar. Please, don't waste my time." Her face disappeared off the wall as Peter asked, "What?" He looked down to see Madame Web speak to him on the same ad paper, "I am not your enemy, Peter Parker. You are." The ad paper burned up as her face reappeared on a band poster. Madame Web inquired, "Isn't it strange with all the power you have, you hurt so many close to you? Your Uncle Ben, your teammates: Jonathan Gallo, Nightingale, Venus Deterzo..." Peter asked, "How do you know about them?" Madame Web's face disappeared off of the poster as she answered, "Come see me and find out." Then she laughed again as the blew again around but this time it turned into a purple tornado. Then Peter found himself in his nanobot Spider-Man suit as he asked surprisingly, "My costume! How did get on me?" Then he frowned, "Good going, Spidey! You walked right into a trap!" Madame Web retorted, "You are wrong, Mr. Parker. As usual." Suddenly Spider-Man was grabbed by the wind as he found himself transported to somewhere else with Madame Web herself. She was wearing a red dress with a white circle with spider-like legs on them. She was sitting on a throne designed with a spiderweb. In front of her was a stone table. "How do you know who I am?" asked Spider-Man. "How do you know so much about me? I want some answers!" Madame Web assured, "You will get them, now sit down." She gestured to a chair in front of the table. Spider-Man refused, "I'll stand. Thanks." Madame Web advised, "It is usually a good idea to have a seat when your world is about to be turned upside down." She snapped her fingers making the place literally go upside down and making Spider-Man fall what seemed to be the ceiling. He leaped back to Madame Web as she said, "You are about to embark on a period of training for a mission I will soon require of you." Spider-Man replied, "The only thing I'm gonna be 'embarking' on is a trip out of here!" He turned to leave as Madame Web snapped, "Parker! This is one situation you cannot you cannot crawl away from!" She lifted Spider-Man up telekinetically and threw him on a spiderweb. He struggled to get off but couldn't as Madame Web said, "In order to succeed in this mission, you must overcome the self pity that threatens to end your career." She snapped her fingers as web disappeared and Spider-Man suddenly found herself sitting on the chair Madame Web offered him. Spider-Man asked, "What do you need me for? You obviously have powers of your own." Madame Web frowned, "Powers are nothing. More important is your tendency to question yourself. That is an interesting quality. Tedious, but interesting." She gestured her finger as the chair with Spider-Man on it dragged toward her and stopped at her table. Madame Web set up a couple cards as she showed Spider-Man a card with a knight on a horse and added, "This is your card." The card flew into Spider-Man's hand but he put it back on the table and apologized, "Sorry, but I'm not what you call a believer." The card flew back on Spider-Man's hand and Madame Web advised, "Not so easy, is it? It is telling you must believe in me, and you must have the faith of a child." Spider-Man asked, "What's that supposed to mean?" Madame Web smiled as she disappeared and Spider-Man protested, "No, wait!"
Peter Parker found himself out of his costume and looked at an abandoned building with a sign that said, "Madame Web." Peter thought, 'Did I just go through the Twilight Zone or what? All this weirdness is kinda the reason why I quit.' Then the card in his hand turned into a picture of Team SVRN. Peter stared longingly at Venus and sighed, "All right. For her, maybe just this once."
