Chapter 20- Return Of Mister Negative

It was already finals of the Vytal Festival Tournament, and the first battle was Penny Polendina and Pyrrha Nikos. Everyone was watching, including a certain Doctor Serena Patel in a prison cell. The televisions there were old and often showed the picture in black and white, but it showed in near perfect condition. A few guards were talking to each other about her. "Hey, did you hear about Spidey and his team take down those six bad guys?" asked one of them. A second guard nodded, "Yeah, I heard Spidey's team put them up to it to distract us." A third guard frowned, "No way did they put those super villains up to it. I mean, how could they find time to that when they were fighting at the Vytal Festival?" The second guard replied, "I heard they cheated on their battles. Good riddance to them being disqualified." The first guard retorted, "You have been listening to the Daily Bugle too much, haven't ya?" Then that was when the guards were arguing with each other. Serena groaned, "Is this the fate of my genius? Being imprisoned by the biggest idiots in Remnant?" She walked back in forth in her cell as she gritted, "Will my suffering in this prison ever end?" Then a forth guard and the warden came to her cell. "What?" snapped Serena. The warden replied, "Someone wants to see you immediately." Serena narrowed her eyes at them as she muttered, "Anything could be better than listening than these three idiots arguing about Spider-Man."

Serena was sent over to a interrogation cell where she meant with a man in a suit with two suited bodyguards. Serena recognized the man as Doctor Martin Li. "Aw, Dr. Serena Patel," smiled Martin. "Just the woman I wanted to see." Serena looked at him suspiciously and wondered why would Remnant's greatest saint would want to see her. Martin offered, "Please, have a seat." Serena sat down as she asked, "What do you want?" Martin answered, "It is to my understanding that you have been a long time member of the rumored criminal called 'the High Evolutionary.'" Serena asked, "How would you know that, Dr. Martin Li?" Martin lifted his eyebrows as he answered, "Police reports, assisting Miranda Wilson and Quentin Beck in their fight against Spider-Man and his team, and Miranda mentioned the name when she revealed her true identity at the movie studio and at this very prison." Serena smirked snidely, "If you think that you're going to make me betray the High Evolutionary and shorten my sentence here at prison, I think I'll take my chances." Martin chuckled and asked mysteriously, "Who ever said anything about shortening your prison sentence and betraying the High Evolutionary?" Serena's smirk then turned into a confused frown.

Sergei Kravinoff and Maria Crawford were finished cleaning up her laboratory as an Atlas soldier came over to them and said, "Doctor Martin Li is in the prison talking to one of the prisoners." Sergei asked alarmed, "Which prisoner is that?" The Atlas soldier answered, "Serena Patel, you know the Doctor Octopus from the news." Sergei and Maria looked at each other and he ordered, "Call the prison warden and get both Li and Patel separated!" The soldier asked, "Why?" The two rushed out as they were on their way to the prison.

Serena looked at Martin confused until she noticed Martin's eyes were glowing black and white. The prison guards instantly noticed that as Martin Li began to change into Mister Negative. The suited bodyguards instantly put on demonic masks and pulled out revolvers and shot the prison guards. Mister Negative laughed menacingly as he stood up and opened the door. "Shall we bring your things with you before we go, my dear?" asked Mister Negative. Serena stood up and nodded, "Of course." She walked out with Mister Negative and his Inner Demons following her.

Anti-Venom heard what was going on as he began to web sling his way to the prison. Unbeknownst to him, Kraven the Hunter and Calypso were on an airship and also on their way to the prison.

Mister Negative and Serena Patel made it to the prison lockup and Serena got her suit and mechanical arms on her back. A few guards and Atlas soldiers drew their weapons at them as Mister Negative suddenly swung his katana and made them fly off onto the wall with a wave of glowing energy. Mister Negative snickered as he led the two Inner Demons and Dr. Octopus to the hallway. "Do you have a way of getting out of here?" asked Dr. Octopus. Mister Negative answered, "Yes, we have an airship waiting for us upstairs." Suddenly a familiar voice said behind them, "That's as far as you go, Negative!" Mister Negative turned to see Kraven the Hunter and Maria Crawford. He smirked, "Well, well. Marty's friend Maria and her boyfriend. I must say, when becoming Martin Li now and again I loathed you. Saving lives of the weak sicken me. Once I kill you both, there won't be anything left of Marty in me." Maria's pupils thinned out as she snarled at Mister Negative. Mister Negative taunted, "To think that one of the world's greatest doctors is now half animal is amusing." Maria then suddenly ran toward Mister Negative and threw him on the wall. Dr. Octopus then used her mechanical arms to walk toward Kraven and strike at him with them. He dodged them as he jumped up and kicked Dr. Octopus on the stomach.

Calypso held Mister Negative on the wall as he grunted. She growled at him and Mister Negative glared back. He kicked her off and blasted an energy ball at Calypso. She dodged it as she clawed at him but Mister Negative parried them with his katana. Dr. Octopus rejoined with Mister Negative and asked, "What do we do now?" He replied, "We make our escape. Inner Demons, attack!" Then several Inner Demons showed up with katanas and began attacking Kraven and Calypso. Then Mister Negative and Dr. Octopus then started running away.

Mister Negative and Dr. Octopus made it to their airship on the roof until Anti-Venom swung kicked Mister Negative on the ground. "Time to pay for what you did to me," snarled Anti-Venom. He ran toward Mister Negative but then Mister Negative blasted Anti-Venom with an energy ball. Anti-Venom fell on the ground but before he could get up, Mister Negative stabbed Anti-Venom with his katana. That hurt Anti-Venom like hell and even though his healing powers were keeping him from death, he was immortalized. Mister Negative dragged Anti-Venom into the airship as Dr. Octopus asked, "Why are you bringing him with us?" Mister Negative answered, "Sir Ram says he has something that will kill this creature once and for all." Then he turned to the pilot and ordered, "Fly us out of here!" The pilot nodded as the airship began to ascend and then fly off.

Kraven and Calypso managed to defeat the Inner Demons but watched as the airship flew away.
