He woke up to the sound of knocking. Then he remembered, and worry paralyzed him. He stopped on the way to the door, assuming it was an attacker.

"Who is this?" He finally found the words to ask.

"Vivia!"

He exhaled and opened the door quickly.

"We don't even have a lock, you know. You may come in without knocking."

"It's tradition among the Dapheni. We trust each other, but respect privacy," she said in a formal way.

"Anyway, what is it?" He had an urge to talk about the attack. Spencer just needed to share it with somebody. Especially considering that Vivia could also be in danger because of him. If they dared to enter the village, they would dare to kill Dapheni, too.

"Nothing, just wanted to see if you're okay."

"Well..." He stepped away, letting her come in. She nodded in appreciation and walked into the room.

"What is it?" She asked, sitting down on the couch.

"Not really."

"Will you tell me?"

He sighed, trying to put everything together. For a moment he closed his eyes, the image of the silhouettes appearing before him.

"When I was coming back from our meeting yesterday night..." He stopped, realizing that the moment he was describing was not the beginning. "Ugh. So when we were preparing for our trip here-"

"Calm down."

"Okay... When we were preparing for our trip here, we got a note threatening us. We burned it, thinking it wasn't anything serious," he stopped to look at Vivia. She was frowning, curious about what he'd say next. "But then we were passing by the border, and we were attacked. They wore green and purple. The colors of Elaset's government."

He paused, letting Vivia speak. She only sighed, so he continued.

"But we got here and assumed that we would be perfectly safe in the village. But yesterday night I was coming back from our meeting and I saw a group of people next to our house. They were talking in hushed voices, it was horrifying. Suspicious," he looked at Vivia again and noticed that she seemed to understand. "Then, later, they left."

"Huh... We don't have anyone here who likes hanging out at night," Spencer wasn't looking at Vivia, but by the tone of her voice, he understood she was smirking. "But I'm sure I know who it is, and this is serious."
