The first thing he thought of when he woke up was blood dust. In the beginning it was just a faint memory, but then the events of yesterday came flowing in. He tuned them out as he turned to face the drawer. He stumbled upon Vivia, who was already up and staring out of the window.

"Hi," he said quietly.

"Good morning," she replied as he reached to get the blood dust. He was hungry again, but curiosity took over. He untied the pouch, and Vivia watched him curiously.

"Have we gotten attacked?" He asked jokingly as he noticed her serious expression. The dust sparked ebony for a second, and that moment he thought that the dust was actually black, not dark red. Vivia cracked up, leaning over his shoulder.

He tipped the pouch over, letting not more than a tiny bit slip out.

"Do you think we will?" He kept laughing.

"I don't know, let's hope not," Vivia was serious now, but he could hear that she was still smiling.

A bit of red dust moved up, flying in a wheeze and immediately falling down.

"Cool," Vivia pointed out.

"Why is this happening?" Spencer looked closer, then got further again. For a while, they waited in silence.

"Is it not going to happen again?" Vivia asked, bored. Spencer felt her sharp chin on his shoulder, but he didn't mind. The dust wheezed up again, and this time, Spencer could see the color slightly better. It was a bright, shiny red, different from the one that the dust originally was. It was lighter.

"I think it does that whenever we ask a question," he raised an eyebrow, puzzled.

"Well, then, we have found out what it can do. Answer questions. Now we need to make a device for that."

Spencer cracked up as he faced Vivia.

"That's the hardest part."

"I know," she stood up. "Let's go have breakfast."

"Wait a second," he stared at the bunch again hopefully. "Is my name Spencer?"

The dust moved up, shining bright red.

"Am I Dapheni?"

There, Vivia let out a giggle as she stepped down the stairs. He didn't notice how the dust flew up. The movements, as he realized, were tiny and barely noticeable. He really did need a device to use the dust effectively.
