He almost jumped when he could make out a shape in the distance. He had forgotten that the villages no longer had any light.

All because of him.

"See that?" He asked, pointing at the shape.

"Yes, I do."

"That's Desrid, right?"

"Yes."

"How will we ask for help? Everyone's asleep."

Vivia scoffed.

"I know one workaholic guy. He always stays up all night to gather sky dust."

"Even during a crisis?"

She chuckled.

"I bet."

"What's his name?"

"Rudy. He'll ask questions, though, so prepare. He's curious about humans."

"I'll answer."

"Alright then."

They were already walking into the village. Sleepy and tired, Spencer almost bumped into some buildings. His shoulder and hip couldn't help but stumble upon some sharp edge or angle.

"There he is," Vivia grabbed his wrist and pulled him into some direction. By the time he was up on his feet, conscious, he saw a boy a few years older than him. He was apparently gathering sky dust.

"Rudy?" Vivia asked.

"Vivia? What are you doing here?"

"Heard about any attack?"

"No..."

"Then I have to warn you. Elaset's gone crazy. They're attacking Dapheni towns and destroying sky dust."

Spencer assumed that Rudy hadn't noticed him in the dark. He wanted to come out, but decided to wait until the moment came.

"Damn, what?" Rudy seemed to be raging.

"Yes. I've brought a human. From Elaset, but don't be afraid. He's no enemy," Vivia looked at Spencer. He stepped out.

"A human?" Even in the darkness, it was visible that Rudy's eyes were sparkling.

"Yes, I have a lot to explain. Can you take me into your house?"

Spencer barely paid attention to what happened next. They entered a house, where they sat at a table and talked about something he didn't listen to. Rudy was constantly looking at Spencer.

He assumed that he passed out that evening. It all happened too quickly, so it seemed to him.

He woke up in a bed, which already made him feel safer. The first thing he did was look for Vivia, who was still sleeping on a nearby bed.
