It has always been difficult being a werewolf among humans. True, there aren't many rules but the single most important one, was the most difficult to follow – humans cannot know about the existence of werewolves. This is the one thing embedded in pups' minds from a very early age for their own safety. Unlike most creatures, werewolves learn from their mistakes and know better than to take on the human world, which is why they try to blend in – hiding their true nature and abilities and exchanging power and dominance for a peaceful coexistence. As if that by itself isn't hard enough, it's even tougher on young unmated omegas and betas to live a peaceful life while constantly being eyed by dominant alphas. And that task is even closer to impossible when it's a female alpha trying to blend in. The alpha female gene was rare, usually being considered one found strictly in males, but there were those exceptions when alpha she-wolves were born. In this world "rare" usually was a synonym of "attractive" which translated into the world of werewolves meant constantly having to be on your toes for alphas who would try to claim you as theirs, whether by sweet talk or by force. Who could blame them really? Alpha females had all the gentleness, tenderness and kindness of omegas; the intelligence, wits and gumption of betas but were strong, independent, decisive, sometimes even impulsive, and very protective of their loved ones just as all alphas were. In other words – they were the perfect mate.

You were one such alpha she-wolf. Your family wasn't the richest but they had enough to provide for you and your older brother Daniel. Plus, they possessed one trait most families didn't – they were purebred. In other words – not only were you and Danny alphas, but so were your parents and their parents before them. That very fact was the reasoning behind the gated life you lived. The family kept an eagle eye on you and controlled everything you did until you came of age to take care of yourself. Feeling like a prisoner your entire life, you decided to study abroad. Seeing as though Danny had already found a mate and couldn't watch out for you as much as he did before, your parents decided to grant your wish only if you agreed to live in the same city as a distant cousin – Jung Hoseok, whose family had moved to New York a while back. Actually, that suited you perfectly because one of the colleges you had your eyes on was Vassar, a private,  coeducational, liberal arts college, located in Poughkeepsie, New York. You and Hoseok weren't close but he was known to be among the best alphas in their family tree – bright, hard-working, responsible and extremely trust-worthy.

And that is how you found herself in New York City, 5 years later, already graduated with flying colors and working as a dance instructor in your cousin's studio. You and Hoseok became close almost immediately, which was inevitable given his bubbly and energetic sunshine-like personality. The boy had been reluctant to be your friend rather than guardian at first but that quickly changed falling under the charms of the radiant female alpha that you were and bonding over your shared love of dancing, soon feeling you were more of a sister than a cousin to him. Eventually you met his friends – 6 dashing alphas, some mated, some still fucking around but they accepted you very well into their pack. And this is how your life as a pack wolf began.
