A/N: I wasn't lying when I said I got a creative streak going. I've never written a 7k... anything really, faster in my entire life. So... triple update 😊 Hope that makes up for my absence, as least a little bit. Enjoy the chapter! 💖
The plane ride back to New York was a blur, you sleeping through pretty much the entirety of it. Now that you were making your way through the tunnel and out the gate though, you were feeling nervous. In the spur of the moment you had allowed Taehyung to take you to a high-end salon to get started on the change he'd suggested prior. After all the procedures, pampering and finally a visit to the hairdresser, which resulted in a slightly different hair style and color, the wolf dragged you off on a shopping spree that would suit your new look.
No word of a lie – you were NEVER going out with this boy again! Eight hours... Eight. Whole. HOURS! That's how much time you spent running from one store to the other. In the end you had to throw a pair of sparkling velvet heels (ugly torture devices, created by a sadistic fucker with a foot-bleeding fetish no doubt, if you might add!) at Taehyung to get him to take you back to the hotel. You were fairly certain the driver hated you with the amount of bags he had to carry to your rooms. Not that you didn't offer to help, however Taehyung's father was having none of it – you were his honorary guest, hence you weren't allowed to lift a finger, for which all the staff had been thoroughly instructed.
Anyway, all of that seemed like a good idea three days ago. Now... let's just say you were struggling not to go running back into the plane. Luckily, Taehyung had a tight grip on your hand and was pulling you towards the gate exit, excited as a puppy that had seen its first squirrel. Well, too late to back out now...
The second you walked out of that gate, you immediately spotted your pack members – their loud cheers and Jungkook and Anna's excited jumping, hard to miss. Seeing them smiling so brightly and eager to hug you, really made you realize just how much you had missed them. Although, admittedly, the wide-eyed stares and jaw-dropped shocked expressions you didn't find particularly to your liking. Neither was the fact Yoongi and Leila were there as well but you tried ignoring them as best you could.
Jungkook: "What the hell happened?!" the maknae yelled when you approached them.
Y/N: "What? Do I look that bad?"
Jimin: "Bad? Are you kidding??" he grinned, looking you up and down "You look incredible!"
Y/N: "Thank you" it was obvious just by the sound of your voice their compliments were making you shy but you were happy they liked the new look "It was Tae's doing actually. He talked me into this out of nowhere."
Jin: "For the first time since I've known this boy – I completely approve his impulsive decision!"
Taehyung: "Hey, not all my decisions are bad!"
Namjoon: "Sure, Tae, whatever you say".
While the others were busy inspecting your new look, Yoongi was quietly sitting on the side, unable to tear his eyes away from you. He hadn't seen you in a two weeks, during which he had practiced his apology speech, and now that you were in front of him, the boy was at a loss for words. The girl that came out of that plane was certainly not the girl he had expected to see. When you ran out of the alley that night with a pained look in your eyes, he was left to think he'd see a broken girl, barely managing to get it together.
Yoongi thought Taehyung had asked you to go to Paris with him in order to distract you and, while that may have reigned true to some extent, he found he was wrong for the most part. The girl in front of him was not broken, she wasn't sad or disheveled, at least on the outside anyway. Quite the contrary actually – your smile was as wide as ever and your appearance was that of someone who had discovered themselves anew. Yoongi had rarely seen you wearing a dress or any sort of revealing clothing and yet here you were – flaunting a combination of both.
