A/N: When you have to delay the upload because snow storm, power outage and couldn't see shait, captain! But that's beside the point...

Hey guys! I know it's been a long time... again 😅 but here I am. And this is the first of two chapters I will be uploading. So enjoy! 💜

The next couple of days after Jin's birthday, you felt a strange sort of exuberance surging through your body. It was something completely uncharacteristic for you, even with Christmas and New Year rapidly approaching. Sure enough, you adored those holidays for plenty of reasons - one being Christmas morning when you and your pack gоt to gather around and exchange presents. Not for the gifts in particular, but for the chance to make them happy because every year you took the time to find out what they wanted or needed and their reactions, when they tore open the wrapping, were something none of them knew how much you cherished.

Another major reason for your gushing enthusiasm was Taehyung's birthday. The kid had the audacity to spend a single day in the year he was born and most people would think it was hard to combine two major celebrations in the span of two days, but those people obviously didn't know you. Every year your best friend made sure your birthday would be unforgettable and every year, you did the exact same for him. It had become something of a tradition for you two and everyone went with it without questioning either of you.

That being said, it was no surprise you had already began planning the boy's special day, even getting Nikki and the others involved. Jungkook wasn't particularly happy he had to buy the decorations and put them up but that was where Jimin came in and offered to help the maknae decorate - a true angel, if you do say so yourself. Everyone had their respected roles and it was only a matter of time before they all started blowing up your phone with questions, most of them so ridiculous one would wonder how they got through college, however, better safe than sorry - none of them would risk your wrath if they messed up their tasks. It was stressful and overwhelming at times but you'd endure all of it and more for Tae.

With all of this in mind, it was still hard for you to pinpoint where exactly your elation was coming from. The things listed - you had been doing for years, plus this sensation felt different. It started on the cab ride back home after Jin's party and it only grew as the hours ticked by. Though you'd probably never admit it out loud, you knew it had something to do with Vincent and the tiniest hope you were harboring that he wouldn't give up in the face of a challenge.

Realistically, it most likely was foolish of you because why would he go through so much effort to get your attention that night, just to get turned down and told to try harder. Unlike you, he wasn't a wolf, the chase wasn't necessarily something he enjoyed. You realized you had possibly blown your chance with him the second you left that bar, yet there was still that tiny inkling of hope you'd get to see him again, that just refused to die.

It was that very thing that had been keeping you going for the past three days. Not that you were actually expecting to see Vincent at this point, but the idea of someone being interested in you without having to change for them, being made a priority without even doing all that much... well... you had to admit, it was flattering. The sheer knowledge, that someone out there found you attractive and was not afraid to show it, gave you a sense of confidence you had long since lost. Of course it would be nice to see Vincent again, however, if you couldn't, you'd still be grateful to him for the unexpected gift. If Namjoon had taught you anything, it was that life was about appreciating the little things, so this feeling was something you were going to hold on to.
