A/N: Hey guys! I owe you an apology for the late update. I really am sorry for taking so long. Who would have thought writer's block was a thing when you're sick and trying to handle a work load for 3 people over the course of two weeks. Oh, well... now I'm back and giving you a bit of a longer chapter so enjoy! 😊💗

Taehyung: "You WHAT?!" the boy chocked on his coffee, spitting half the liquid in his mouth on the counter top.

Y/N: "Jesus, Tae, keep your voice down! No need to yell."

The wolf just leered at you flabbergasted, still trying to process what you had previously told him. Admittedly, this ungodly early hour of the sunny Sunday morning wasn't the best time to share the decision you had made last night, especially since Taehyung was nursing a hefty hangover. That, however, was no reason to be this loud, not when you yourself had a mild headache and were sitting right next to him. You were grateful you didn't have nearly as much to drink as Taehyung did, although to be fair he needed it more than you did. Yes, you were hurt but he was equally as affected and the anger and frustration he'd been harboring ever since he found out about your feelings just about reached their peak last night. Unlike you, the boy was ready to confront his older brother but you managed to stop him by continuously refilling his glass while you clung tightly to his arm.

Guilt for having to practically get him drunk to oblivion was the reason you had planned to make Taehyung a meal and some much needed coffee when you'd wake up the next morning. Of course, the plan didn't include his father calling him at 7 am to inform him of a brunch meeting he'd be having with an important client, which also required his presence. The man's tone was indication enough that attendance was mandatory and no excuses would be tolerated. Hearing that, you forced yourself to get up first, letting Taehyung whine pitifully while rolling around the king-sized bed a bit longer. You used that time to make him the strongest coffee you could and a big pile of pancakes, generously coated with honey, strawberries and bananas. The grateful look he gave you when he took a sip of the hot black liquid and the satisfied moan he let out when he tasted his food were well worth the effort and you thought he seemed predisposed enough to hear your decision. Obviously, your timing wasn't at perfect as you had initially though it to be.

Taehyung: "Don't you tell me to keep it down when you pull a fucking Hiroshima on me out of nowhere, woman!!!"

You rolled your eyes at your friend's overly exaggerated words. There were far worst things you could have said or done considering recent events but instead you settled for the one thing that seemed at least remotely rational when it came to the disarray you'd come to call your love life.

Y/N: "Do you really need to be such a drama queen?"

Taehyung: "You're kidding, right?" he quirked an eyebrow with a significantly calmer tone "I'm being the drama queen when you just told me you want a mate after years of repeating you don't?!"

Well... when he put it like that...

From the very second that thought had popped in your mind, you knew how everyone would react. You had always been standoffish whenever mentions of mating would come up. Whether it was Taehyung, Namjoon or even your own brother, you'd dismiss them in the most delicate and diplomatic way possible so as to not hurt their feelings or undermine their position. Everyone had heard you state you didn't want nor need a mate countless times and you had been adamant about your position.

That being said, you couldn't really blame Taehyung for his reaction. On the other hand, he had been one of the most passionate upholders of the whole mate issue, especially after the rogue attack. Shouldn't he be happy you had finally given in and embraced the idea of finding your significant other?
