Mikasa had just finished leaving the room, and Levi stared at the door as it closed. There was no ache in his heart for the loss of Tauriel, simply because he hadn't known much of the girl, but he did have a sympathetic ache for the Captain he just shared the somber news to. He knew better than anyone what it was like to lose a squad member, especially one very close to themself.

Despite having no relations with Tauriel, Levi was more than aware the effect she had on people, including Mikasa. She was full of energy, and could make any situation lighter by her extremely sarcastic and witty talking style. This impacted Mikasa greatly, and to lose something so pure, something that was good in a world of bad, obviously slammed into her hard.

He sighed, "Erwin, we need to talk about the other Titans, but you need to let Mikasa have her time with her team when we are done because I know you would want us to go on a mission immediately."

Erwin raised a single large brow. "You're in no position to make commands, Levi."

Levi shrugged nonchalantly. "Whether I was a Captain or a mere recruit I would still say the same thing." Levi averted his attention to Hange. "Those other seven Titans are not Shifters, I'm sure of it."

"Yes, you seem dead set on that theory," Hange considered, thinking with a finger on her chin. "I've been trying to figure out how regular Titans are inside the walls. The only way would be a hole, but none of the warning bells have been rung."

"They're not going to ring for that if they didn't ring when the Colossal and Armored Titan appeared." Levi said.

"Actually, they would," Erwin disagreed. "Last time they didn't want to ring the bell because that meant they had to get involved in our fight with the Shifters, and any Titan within the walls is basically a Shifter. It's impossible otherwise, and they've seen what Shifters can do. They don't want to deal with that unless we go and get the Commanders of the other two Regiments of the Military to command them to help us."

"Then why would they ring if the wall was down?" Levi asked. "Seems as if it goes against their cowardly nature."

"Because if it were the case that the wall was down, then they would be dealing with more than they could handle and would need our help. Shifters, they want us to deal with them, but regular Titans? Especially a horde coming from the outside? They can't handle that; and besides, they can blame the whole mess the Shifters make on us, but a whole horde of Titans coming from a wall punched into the wall would be their fault. The whole Regiment could get in trouble, maybe even food rations cut as punishment, and they wouldn't want that."

"Right," Levi deadpanned, his voice laced with bitterness. "So while they only care for the stupid wall and the police are on the inside the regime expects us to die in their place and solve everything."

Erwin's expression hardened. "Both Regiments are equally as useless, but right now, if the Garrison Regiment hasn't sounded an alarm it means there is no breach within the wall."

"Then how did those other Titans come in?" Hange asked. She looked back at Levi. "Are you sure those aren't Shifters?"

Levi clenched his fists. "If you don't believe my account then feel free to ask every Scout that managed to make it out alive. I'm sure they'll tell you the same thing."
