Chapter Thirty-Six: The End?

Upon hearing what Kaila had just stated to them, Kai shook his head, coming back to fictional reality. "W-what?" he said, feeling a bit surprised.

"I am so sorry, guys," Kaila told them. "I wish that I did not have to do this to you and just let you be on your way, but my master has his orders. And he ordered me to capture all of you and bring you to him."

"Wait a second," Bill spoke. "Are you working for him? Are you working for Zorac?"

Kaila nodded. "I do not have any choice but to obey him and follow his commands."

"Why, Kaila?! Why?!" the Beast of Vengeance exclaimed. "I thought that we were all friends! Especially me being your best friend!"

The dorito crossed his arms and rolled his eye.

"Kai, is it? I will admit that you quite a guy," the girl yak explained. "And while I think you are cute, I have my duties and must carry them out."

"She called me cute!" the Maker of Widows exclaimed happily.

"Hey, yak dude! Have you already forgotten that she is kidnapping us?!" the one-eyed triangle yelled.

"What are you planning to do with us?" Shelly asked, frowning.

"Oh, that is not my decision," Kaila responded. "That is Lord Zorac's."

"Then, what does he plan to do with us?" Slappy asked as he hugged Shelly tightly.

"You will find out when you finally get to meet him - face to face," Kaila replied. She stared intently at Shelly.

"Uh...why are you looking at me like that?" Shelly spoke up, her hands starting to shake and getting sweaty.

"I thought that I would never see the day," the girl yak said. "I am actually meeting and greeting with the firstborn Lubriem."

Shelly gasped.

"What?" the puppet questioned. He realized that Kaila was looking at Shelly, so he looked up at Shelly, and then back at Kaila with an eyebrow raised. "Um...I do not know what you are talking about...but Shelly is not a...whatever you just called her." He looked back up at Shelly. "She is a human." He took her hand into his. "A pretty human. But if she would like, I would definitely turn her into a puppet and---"

"SLAPPY!" Kai and Bill yelled.

"This is a fanfiction, not a flirting session!" the yellow triangle said.

"Yeah! And we have been captured!" the Taker of Chi agreed. He smiled at the girl yak. "At least, we have captured by the most beautiful girl in the world."

Kaila could feel her face getting hot, and her cheeks started turning red, but she shook her head. "Enough of this." She took out her walkie-talkie again and talked into it. "The targets have been captured. Bring them up to the ship now." The girl yak looked at Shelly and the boys as they started floating up to the entrance of the ship.

Shelly tried to figure out a way for her and the villains to escape, but there was nothing that any of them could do but to face their doom.

Slappy snuggled close to Shelly. Kai looked down. Bill gave Kaila the evil eye.

"You will not get away with this!" the yellow triangle shouted.

"It looks like I already have," Kaila said. She talked into the walkie-talkie again. "Not only did we get the chosen supervillains, but we also got the firstborn Lubriem."

Is this the end for our heroes? Are they finally done for? Will they be able to defeat Zorac? Will Slappy and Shelly be a couple? Will Kaila leave Zorac and join our heroes? Will Bill Cipher find true love? Stay tuned for book two of 'Lost Story: The Saving'!
