Chapter Thirty-Three: Reasoning

"Oh, crub."

Before Shelly could reason more with him, Slappy teleported, making the lights go on and off again.

And yes, making people scream and then calm once more.

"Man, that puppet is surely trouble," Kai spoke up.

"Nah," Bill replied. "He is just a mere puppet with such a stupid name. What damages could that poor puppet actually do?"

Then there was a scream.

A bloodcurdling scream.

"Help!" someone yelled, pointing. "There is a bookshelf in the adult section that is on fire!"

"You were saying, Bill?" Shelly said. She sighed.

"Come on. Let us get him."

Shelly ran towards the adult section of the bookstore, the two monsters trailing behind her. When they got there, they saw a very happy puppet on one of the bookshelves.

Slappy giggled with glee. "I love a good story!" he proclaimed as he burned another book and then tossed its ashes into the air.

"Please, Slappy, stop!" the young girl pleaded.

"Yeah!" the one-eyed triangle agreed. "You are insane!"

"Nope. You are the insane one," the puppet corrected him. "I am just plain crazy."

"Slappy has a point there," the Beast of Vengeance told Bill.

"Slappy, please end this destruction of yours," Shelly begged. "For me?"

Slappy chuckled to himself. "Do not worry, my dear," he stated happily. "This is not about you." He pointed at Kai and Bill. "This is about them disrespecting me."

Dear? Okay! Enough of that!

"What did I do?" the Maker of Widows asked, suddenly confused. "Bill is the one who does not like your guts!"

"Hey!" the dorito exclaimed.

"Plus, I never once called you a dummy!"

Oops.

"I knew that you would screw up sooner or later," Slappy said as he crossed his arms over his chest.

"What if they just said that they were sorry?" the young girl asked.

"Sorry does not cut it, toots," the puppet responded, as he held up another book to the lighted match. "They need to learn their lesson." He then lit the book on fire and tossed it onto the ground.

"Hahaha!"

"Reasoning did not work," Shelly whispered. She turned to Kai and ordered him to get help.

"On it!" the Taker of Chi replied. He took one last glance at the creepy puppet before he took off.
