XVIII

Jace's Point of View:

I woke up and I feel Jade next to me. I sat up and swung my legs over the side of the bed. I was still groggy from my nap. I swore Jade fell asleep. She fell asleep before me after lunch. I felt hands wrap around my torso. These hands weren't Jade's though. They were cold, there was no warmth or sparks. They traveled up my chest, Jade isn't this forward and this touch wasn't turning me on the way she does. I grabbed these frail hands as I turned around to face the culprit. "Karla? " How the hell did she get in without anyone sensing her? Where the hell is Jade?

She smiled at me. "What the fuck are you doing here?" I asked throwing her hand away from me. "I came to see you. " she pouted. I growled and she winked. "Leave! " I said through gritted teeth. She looked genuinely confused as to why I would kick her out. "Why?" she asked. "Well one, you're trespassing and two, I don't want you here. " She stood from the bed and walked around to stand in front of me. "I guess you don't want to know where your pathetic "mate" is. Do you? " She knew where Jade was? I grabbed her, backing her into a wall and holding her hands above her head. If she did anything to hurt Jade, I'll make sure she will feel twice that. 

"Where is she?! " I demanded an answer. "I don't know. " She said smirking like it was a joke. "Yes, you do! Tell me now! " I boomed. She laughed and I spun her around, making her press her face against the wall, and twisting her arm behind her back. "Tell me! " I growled. She let out a whimper, which turned into a throaty moan then she bit her lip. "I like it like that. " 

"Jace? " I heard the door creek open, wider than it was. Jade came in the room and everything about the way we were and the things she said made me feel guilty. I knew it all looked bad, but I also know she set me up. I let go of her arm and she backed away from the wall. Karla had a smug smile on her face. Jade probably has lost all faith in me now.

"Babe where were you? " I asked. "My mom called, asking me to help with Tyson for a few minutes. His canines are growing in. " She said, all with a lifeless glare in her eyes. "I'll leave you two to talk... " Karla said knowing exactly what she did. She strutted towards the door and Jade lifted her fist so fast, knocking her off her feet. "You stay the fuck away from him. " Jade said through gritted teeth. Karla got up from the floor and looked at Jade. "You're going to regret that! " Karla threatened before racing out the room. 

Jade's attention turned to me and she marched her way towards me. "If you weren't next in line to be alpha, I would tear your throat out and leave you lying here on the floor for your parents to find you. " Her eyes were a lifeless black. I Haven't seen her become this enraged since the time I tore apart her doll. "Babe relax, I wasn't coming on to her. " I started to explain. "She came in here, sometime after you left and told me she knew where you were. I tried to get her to tell me, but she obviously didn't know where you went. " She didn't say anything, but I could see the darkness leaving her eyes. "We'll see this time. " She said, walking away. 

"Where are you going? " I asked following her. "To help my mom with Tyson. " She stated, never stopping, but I did. "Fine." 

Jade's Point of View:

When I back to my stay, I told my moms he could relax and I will watch Tyson. I sat on the floor with him in his room and we played with his automated train. I couldn't stop thinking about how I punched Karla. I never hit anyone like that before, but she had it coming. She didn't understand the concept of stay away. Any smart person would. What was her motive? Is she trying to get rid of me by trying to constantly flirting with Jace? Is she mad at Jace and trying to get back at him? Whatever it is, I'm going to find out. If she is out to hurt the love of my life... I love him...

I could smell the most masculine smell traveling from the front door. I got up from the floor and told Tyson to stay where he was. As I approached the door, I called out, "What do you want Jace? ". I opened the door and He stood there with a smile on his face. "Hello to you too. " His smile was contagious, but I was still conflicted by my confession to myself. I really do love him. It's weird to think we've only been around each other for almost a month and I already felt like he was everything I needed. I do love him.

"Why are you here? " I asked. "I figured you'd need help calming the pup. "He said. "I think I have it under control Jace. " I tried convincing him but he pushed himself past me making me roll my eyes. 

Just then Tyson came running out his room and up to Jace. "Jace! Jace! Check these out! " He said opening his mouth wide and pointing at his new teeth. "Wow, how cool! Check out mine. " Jace played to Tyson's interest, forcing his canines to grow and showing Tyson. "Whoa! Are you a vampire? " Tyson boasted and Jace looked appalled. I couldn't help but giggle. "No, I am not a Vampire. I'm just like you. Just way bigger. " Tyson looked a bit confused. "Prove it. " He tried Jace. 

"Maybe later Jace has to go. " I stepped in. "Awe why?" They both cried at the same time. "Tyson, I'll be in your room with you in a few. Go play. " He agreed and ran off. "Why do I have to go? " Jace asked when Tyson was out of site. Honestly, seeing him just reminded me of Karla and her "special" appearance today and I told him just that. "Jade, what happened today, I told you what she did. Do you think I'm lying? " He asked. 

I sighed loudly. "Listen, Jace, I don't know what to think. After everything we've been through-" He cut me off, "Yes after everything we been through, everything I put you through, do you honestly think I would purposely hurt you again? "  He looked at me in disbelief. 

I shook my head. "Jade, I told you I loved you and I have done nothing but try to prove it to you. Is it not enough? " He asked. "No Jace... "I said unable to think of an actual explanation. He walked over to me and grabbed my hands. "I love you, Jade. You are my mate. Everything I Have done from the point that I said I love you, up until now, has been to prove it. I don't have eyes for anyone but you. You're all I need... " He paused and took a deep breath. "Do you love me too? " He asked looking me in my eyes. 

His grip tightened when I hesitated to answer. "Yes I do, "I started and his eyes glistened. "And I have never felt this way about anyone else. Matter a fact, I have never been with anyone else. "I admitted. "Jade, nothing I have ever experienced compares to the feelings you have for your mate. " He assured me. "What have you experienced? " I asked a little curious. "Hush, don't worry about that right now. " He chuckled, bringing me close to him. "Lets not keep Tyson waiting any longer. " Jace said.
