Jade's Point of View:

Jace's lips were moving but in my view, nothing was coming out. No doubt he was talking, I just wasn't listening. My mind was too focused on the events of last night and according to Alya, I wore it. "You're glowing. " She whispered, there was a smile on her face, she found this amusing. "No, I'm not. " I said denying her claims. She laughed. "Yeah, you are. What happened yesterday? " She asked, still whispering and smiling. "Nothing. " I said cutting it short, but she kept pressing at it.

Jace was in the middle of devising a plan for when the crescents attack, and how we should go about everything if they don't attack first, but my mind was absolutely somewhere else. I have no idea as to what he was talking about since the meeting started. "Come on Jade. " She said insisting I tell her. "Shut up. " I said fairly loud and directing everyone's attention to me, including Jace's.

He looked annoyed. I tried to shyly smile my way out of trouble, but Jace stood to his feet. "A word Jade?" He boomed. His tone was clearly irritated but I couldn't help but sense the amusement playing behind his scowl. He walked towards the door and I followed behind him. Alya started laughing the moment Jace started talking to me, to when he let the door close behind us.

When we got out the room, I turned to Jace with a big apologetic smile. He rolled his eyes and began talking. "It's really hard to focus when you're having side conversations with Alya and making an outburst. " He folded his arms across his chest and looking down on me. "I'm sorry... " I trailed. He looked at me, holding a face of annoyance for a minute before smiling. "Alya is right. You are glowing. " He teased and I could feel my cheeks warming up. "Guess I know I did a good job last night. " He said, smirking. I didn't know what to say I just kept blushing and breaking eye contact with him. "Maybe. " I managed to say, not feeding his ego, but I failed. "You blushing tells me what a good job I did. Now, let's go back inside so I can finish. "He said, holding the door open for me. I walked in and stood next to Alya who started laughing again when she saw me. I ignored her and listened to Jace.

The more I listened to him, the way he spoke about going after them, he sounded scary like he was angry with the crescents and like he was being fueled by anger and the thought of retribution, revenge. I was beginning to worry about him. Now he has my undivided attention

Jace's Point of View:

After the meeting, I figured Jade would go back to her stay, but she followed right behind me. She wasn't kidding when she said she felt like her family would be safer without her around.

As we made our way to our stay, I refreshed her on part of the plan for battle. I knew she could tell I was amused by her having to ask what I was talking about even though she is embarrassed. We made our way to my stay, everyone who was going to fight for our pack was going to train more today. We have been training since Jade woke from her coma. It's been paying off.

Jade wasn't too happy to find out that her father was going to fight while her mother and brother were going to stay here defenseless. I couldn't help that either, this is how everything works. Mothers with younger children must stay behind with all the other mothers and children while their husbands fight. Any one of ages eighteen and older must fight to protect our pack if need be. I'm not eighteen and neither is Jade, Alya or Jovante, but we're almost of age and this was our fight to fight. Jade wasn't going to let go either. I begged her to stay behind because I didn't want anything to happen to her again, but she has been hell bent on getting back at Karla since she woke up. I don't want her to fight because she's fueled by the thoughts of retribution and revenge. She will get hurt out there if she is blinded by rage and cannot see the real picture.

Just when Jade and I had reached my door, I heard the sound of feet rapidly hitting the ground and coming towards us. I turned on my heels and Jade did the same. "Jace! Your father sent us to tell you a report!" His tone was rushed, but panicked. "Calm down, what's going on? " I tried assuring him with my tone. "The crescents, they're waiting at the forefront. " He said, still panicked. I took a moment to collect my thoughts. Here it is. "Okay, what did my father say? " I asked. "To gather everyone, and have you come and lead us. " He informed me and I nodded. "You're dismissed. " I told the men.

As they left, Jade turned to me. I expected her to be panicked as well. Possibly whining about how we barely had any training even though we were all prepared, but the look in her eyes was almost cynical. "What are you waiting for? Let's go. " She pushed. I couldn't help but agree with her. I was ready to give them exactly what they were asking for.
