This information is true about people suffering from depression. You should learn the symptoms so you can spot in people around you.

You know something is wrong when I'm quiet, I use the excuse "I'm tired", I lose my appetite, I constantly look at the ground, I smile for a second then I go back to a blank expression right after, I have my music turned up loud, or I want to be alone.

Everyone asks me why I'm not talking very much lately and I say "I'm just tired". I'm really not okay and people need to ask more. Nobody pushes and they really should.

I don't eat very much anymore and my guard is always up. People walk past me and ask me if something's wrong and I smile for a second and say "I was just zoned out, there are a lot of things going on". I play my music at full volume and I go to places where no one is just for alone time.

People need to learn the symptoms but no one does. People should be able to spot depression in their friends but they can't because they don't know anything about it. It has become so much more common nowadays and people should how to spot it.
