Day after day, year after year, he said nothing of his affection. "I am in love with you," he whispered to the headstone before him.

He had so much time to tell her. She gave him so many opportunities but he never told her.

He never asked her to dance at their prom, ignored her texts, never showed up to the movie she asked him to come to.

But sure, now he shows up. Now. After she's gone and can't see that he truly cared.

He gave her no hope, he broke her heart over and over.

And now the only reason he admitted to her, admitted it to himself even, he did it over her cold body laying lifeless in the ground.
