Aiden's P.O.V

It had already been a day since she was taken. I didn't want to think about what Daniels could be doing to her. I didn't want to know that because I was too damned stubborn to stay away from her. The necklace had come up empty. There were no fingerprints found other than hers. I'd asked them if I could have it back since at this point, it was the only thing I had of her.

Finn had been trying to comfort me by saying that there was no way that he would hurt her. But Finn didn't understand him like I did. When I had found my sister, her body had been bruised. Not only the parts under her clothes, but all over her body. Her face, her legs, her arms, even her feet and hands. The bastard that has no conscience to do that to a child doesn't give a fuck about anybody else.

"You're tiring yourself out, Aiden. Did you get any sleep at all?" Finn came in with some coffee.

"What the hell do you want me to do? He took her, Finn. She's in his hands now. And I'm sitting here, unable to find a way to get to her. I can't sleep. All that appears in my mind when I think of her is that she's with him. She's in danger's hands now. And I wasn't able to do anything to stop it."

"Aiden, you're going to need to take care of yourself. Natalia needs you right now and if you're not taking care of yourself, how are you going to be able to have the health and right mind to go after her? I'm sure she would have wanted you to rest."

"How would you know?"

"That girl loves you deeply. And she has faith in you. She has faith that you will find her. Not me, not the guy that's walking to the coffee shop, not the mailman...she has all of her faith on you. And you can't just let her down by not being in your best shape."

"Finn, I can't sleep. I've tried. I've tried so hard but every time I close my eyes, I see here lying lifeless on the ground because I was too late to get her. I can't sleep even if I tried."

"Well, start with what was found at the scene then. What did they find?"

"There was some sort of fiber, but we're not really sure if it was connected to it since there are a lot of people that walk through there. However, on the bench, there was a hair that belonged to Daniels. But aside from that, they found some kind of powder."

"Okay. The powder is a clue. Have you found out what was in it?"

"Not yet. The lab is still working on finding the composition of the powder or what seemed like powder."

"She was on her way to see you, you know? I think she knew that you were going to be there in a little bit. I didn't think that something would happen to her. I should have stayed and made sure she got home. But I didn't because I wasn't even thinking about the possibility that he would come and get her."

"It wasn't your fault, Finn. Shit happens and sometimes, we can't help but blame ourselves. But if I'm speaking to you honestly, it never really helps."

"I know it doesn't help but the fact that I could have done more and didn't is part of the reason that she's gone."

"I can argue that I have the biggest part in this." I shook my head. "We can't just keep going back and forth on this. We need to do something to find her."

I got up and walked out to the inner part of the station. The station was small but the facilities behind it were used as a laboratory that the crime scene investigating unit used. If you didn't work here, you wouldn't know that this was back there.

I went straight up to the door of the facilities and walked inside. I came face to face with Layla. She was a sweet old lady that had been there for as long as I could remember.
