Natalia's P.O.V.

My mouth felt like I hadn't had any water in months. I was a little worried that if I opened my eyes, I would find him standing a few centimeters away. But when I felt around, my hand came in contact with soft material, possibly a bed, which meant that I was no longer in that dark place. My side, however, felt like it had been on fire and I didn't really like it one bit.

I moved around and when I felt someone's hand, they immediately ran out of the room. I instantly felt them come back to me, and ask me, "How are you doing, kiddo?"

I recognized that voice from anywhere. "Cayden?" It hurt to talk and my voice was a little hoarse from not having been used in a while. It didn't make sense. What day was it today?

"Hey, sweetheart. How are you feeling? Do you feel any pain at all?"

I shook my head. "I think I'm okay. I just need water."

"Sure thing." he went over to the seat where I saw that his backpack was sitting and he took out his water bottle. He handed it over and when I felt the liquid run down my throat, I was more than a little relieved at the whole thing. It left my throat feeling hydrated and better.

"Where's Aiden?" I asked him.

"He's home now. His wound wasn't that bad. It was a through and through and it was closer to the edge of his arm than anything else."

"He's already home?"

"Yes. But he visited you every day without missing a beat."

"How long was I out?"

"Like two weeks and a half. The doctors said that it was a good thing that you were at least getting some rest. You were tired and halfway through getting a cold."

"That makes no sense."

"I know it doesn't. It's not supposed to make sense."

"Wait. What happened to Daniels?"

"He...well, he's dead."

"Wait. Really?"

"Yeah. Aiden shot him before he had the chance to fatally shoot you."

"Oh."

"Please don't tell me you feel sorry for the dude."

I shrugged. "I didn't expect him to die. That was all."

"Sure."

At that moment, Ingrid walked in along with a doctor and noticed that I was awake. She immediately ran over to my side and hugged me. I laughed, but I could tell that she was crying by the way that she was shaking into me. Feeling her tears on my shoulders confirmed that she was crying. I hugged her back with all my might because I knew that she had been worried sick about me. I hadn't wanted them to suffer because of me. And I knew that it wasn't my fault but I couldn't help but feel guilty anyway.

"Your phone was the one that saved you, you know?" Ingrid told me.

"Really?" I asked in surprise, seeing as how the phone didn't have any signal.

"Yeah. The signal you sent came through and that was how Aiden was able to find you. So basically, you saved yourself. Half of it was you and the other half was Aiden, who was quick in going to your aid."

I nodded at her, not being able to say anything else. Before either of my siblings could say anything else, the doctor told them to momentarily leave the room so that he could check that everything was okay. I didn't think it was necessary to ask them to leave, but the doctor knew what he was doing, so I guess it all made sense.
