We drove in silence the whole way and my mind wandered. The day I met Derek floated back to me.

"Mom I'll be home soon," I yelled to her. I hung up turning back to the dance floor my neon pink bandage dress hugging my curves. I swayed to the hypnotic beat. I saw a man standing on the edge of the dance floor watching me. I gave him a sexy smile as his blue gaze trailed down my body. The man rushed through the crowd wrapping his arms around my waist. I rocked against him as we looked at each other hungrily.

"You are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen," he whispered in my ear. My heart pounded as I smiled at him. I pulled his lips toward mine quickly. Electricity rushed through my body waking something unknown inside me.

"Let's get out of here," I said pulling him toward the exit. Once out of the noise club he pulled me toward him.

"Hey, no strings," He muttered but I could see something more than lust in his eyes. I saw curiosity in his blue eyes. Normally I wouldn't go home with a guy who wanted no strings but my judgment clouded the longer I looked at him.

"No problem," I smirked pressing my lips to his once more. He led me to his car causing my mouth to drop. The black sports car in front of me must have cost a fortune. He laughed holding the passenger door open for me. We got to his apartment and again I was stunned. He lived in the penthouse. I sat at the counter in his apartment. "I'm Clarissa."

"Derek," he said scooping me up. I squealed as he tossed me onto the bed. My student ID hit the ground as he picked the card up. "What's your major?"

"I'm pre-med," I said softly. He sat next to me on the bed as I kicked my heels off.

"Do you like being pre-med?" He asked catching me off guard. Most one night stands don't ask that question. Most boyfriends don't ask that question.

"Yeah I do," I said a small smile tugging at my lips. "Once I'm a doctor I can save lives."

"You are so intriguing to me," Derek said as I sat up.

"You too. You said no strings but you asked about my life," I said tossing my hair out of my face. "Not only that but questions no one has asked me, ever."

"You are making me want to break that rule," Derek said as he grabbed my phone. I gasped as he typed in his number. "I hope you'll call me tomorrow."

"I will," I smiled pulling him toward me. My lips caressed his sending a warmth through my body.

I woke the next morning to an empty bed. I grabbed his shirt pulling the fabric over me. I noticed a note on the desk.

Hey beautiful,
Had to go to work but take my car. I know you probably have classes or something. Maybe I'm secretly hoping that if you borrow my car I'll have to see you again...
Derek (the guy from last night).

I smirked at the last part. How drunk did he think I was?

I snuggled in closer to Derek with a smile. I took his car and he did in fact see me again.

"How long until we reach Harley?" I asked softly as Sam faced me.

"We are here," he said as the car pulled up to a cabin. Derek and I got out of the car following Sam to the front door. Kelly stood a few steps behind us. The door swung open to reveal a red head. I could feel her power as her eyes stared at Derek. She knew he was an immortal.

"You brought him?" She arched an eyebrow. Derek took my hand in his gently.

"I need you help," I said softly as she turned her attention back to me.

"She's dead," Harley said flatly. "Why does she care which immortal made her?"

"She is solid though!" Sam said firmly as Harley let us inside. Harley studied me for a few minutes.

"Okay everyone but her clear out of the room. I need space to focus," Harley said as Derek gave me a short hug before following Kelly from the room. Harley grabbed my hands shutting her eyes. I gasp as electricity rushed through my body. Harley yelped pulling away. "You are Zeus's alright. You don't have his powers exactly but the strength is his."

"Thanks for you help," I sighed rushing to Derek. I wrapped my arms around him with a frown.

"You are his aren't you?" Derek whispered as I nodded.

"I think I should meet him," I said softly. "He might not hurt me."

"I can send him a location but we should make the meeting at a super public place," Derek said as I thought of a location.

"How about the restaurant we always go to? It's public but private," I said as Derek nodded.

"We should leave now unless you want to wait for tomorrow," Derek said as we walked to the car. I got in the passenger seat with Derek driving. He set the meeting time to an hour from now.

"Do you think he'll show?" I asked sitting nervously at a table talking to Derek who sat at the table next to mine.

"He will show," Derek reassured me. My heart raced as I picked my fingernails which I always did when I felt nervous. Derek reached over squeezing my hand gently. His touch calmed me slightly but still found my stomach twisting inside me. I couldn't understand how a dead girl could have an upset stomach but here I was with a knotted stomach. I was going to meet the man responsible for my existence and I wasn't sure I was ready but I had to be...
