I looked at my ring flashing to my birthday.
"Happy birthday my love," Derek said placing a tray on the bed. On the plate was my favorite breakfast in the entire world, waffles with sausage. Next to the plate a velvet box. I gasped picking the box up. I opened the jewelry box to find a beautiful ring.
"Oh my gosh. It's stunning," I breathed slipping the band onto my finger.
"Stunning ring for a stunning woman," Derek said his eyes pulling me in. Ignoring the breakfast I pulled him onto me my lips caressing his hungrily. I shed the layers of clothing between us exploring his body. His touch ignited my nerves filling me with a blissful feeling. He pulled away pulling his clothes back on. I followed his lead getting ready for the day ahead. He took my hand pulling me outside to a black sports car. The car had a purple ribbon, my favorite color, wrapped around the smooth body.
"Is this for me?" I gasped my head spinning. He can't have spent this much money on me.
"Yeah. You deserve these gifts," he smiled as I ran to the car. I got in the driver side with excitement. The leather seats welcomed me.
"Derek, thank you," I smiled as he climbed in the passenger side. I pressed my lips to his firmly.
"Clarissa, are you alright?" Aphrodite asked me softly.
"Yeah I'm fine," I said tightly as she watched me.
"I'm sure my father will let Derek visit," she said as Ares sat on the chair beside us. Our conversation bored Ares. I gasped feeling a burst of electricity rush through me.
"Zeus," I breathed as the room spun. My legs gave out sending me falling onto the marble floors.
"Clarissa," Zeus called weakly to me. I found myself standing in a dark room with Zeus bleeding on the stone floor before me. "He's coming for you and I can't stop him. You can beat him you just have to find your powers. You can sway the war."
"Zeus," I whimpered rushing to his side. I tried to help him but I wasn't really with him.
"Be safe descendant of Fallon," Zeus said before I was sucked away from him...
My eyes flew open as my head pounded.
"Ow," I complained as Aphrodite helped me to my feet.
"What happened?" Ares demanded instantly.
"Zeus has fallen. Hades is coming," I snapped quickly getting right to the point.
"We need to hide you right now," Ares said grabbing my arm. I yanked free of his grasp fixing him with as much authority as I could.
"Zeus said I'm the one who can stop him," I said firmly. "I'm going to get Zeus, Hades won't expect that."
"Let me come with you," Ares pleaded. I looked at him but caved.
"Fine," I said as I ran to my room on Olympus. I grabbed black yoga pants a white tank top and a black leather jacket. I thought about weapons but I had no idea what would hurt Hades. I met Ares at his chariot along with many other immortals. The immortals were seeing us off. I climbed on the chariot as he flew us to the underworld entrance. I got of the chariot as Ares took my hand.
"Slowly and carefully," he said releasing me. I crept to the gate slipping through the doors. The darkness swallowed me as I continued my long walk. I felt Zeus's power calling to mine guiding me to him. Ares followed me careful for traps. My eyes locked onto Persephone as she rounded the corner. She froze staring at me.
"Where is Zeus?" I asked softly.
"I'll take you to him," she said with pity in her eyes. We raced deep into the underworld until we came to a large cave. In the center of the chamber Zeus lay bleeding out on the ground. I ran to him when I heard a bang. I looked back at the entrance to find rocks covering the opening. I was alone in the cave.
"I knew you would come," Hades voice echoed through the cave. I turned my attention back to Zeus when I flew across the room. I groaned as the jagged rocks tore into my flesh. I winced getting to my feet facing Hades. "So weak humans are." I gasped as a strength filled me. I looked down to see a sword in my hand. The sword was silver with a golden handle. The blade cracked with electricity in my hands.
"Stay away from me!" I ordered as Hades kicked Zeus.
"You gave her a sword. Only immortals can have that power!" Hades screamed launching a fireball at me. I blocked the flame with my sword. I smirked at Hades lack of knowledge. He didn't know that I was stronger than any Demigod before me. My blood put me closer to an immortal than a human.
"Get away from him," I snapped as Hades laughed.
"You have no power. You are more likely to harm yourself than me with the sword," Hades said firmly. I watched as a black sword formed in his hand. The handle of Hades's sword had skulls on it. Hades rushed forward swinging his blade at me. Our swords clashed sending a shockwave of energy through the underworld. The ground shook with the power. I took a step back to steady myself before Hades pushed his magic into me. I was blasted through the air before tumbling to the ground once more. The sword sparkled healing my minor injuries. Hades stepped toward me plunging his sword down. I rolled to the side last minute before I scrambled to my feet.
"Leave her alone!" Zeus said as I felt the cool blade slice across my left side. I gasped as pain filled my body. I faced Hades bringing the blade across his arm. I turned quickly grabbing onto Zeus.
"Can you teleport from down here?" I asked keeping my eyes on Hades. I put pressure on my side trying to slow the bleeding. Hades sent another fireball at me. I blocked the flame again with my sword. Zeus grabbed my arm before I felt the hum of electricity. I found myself on Olympus before I collapsed. The sword slid across the ground as blood pooled beneath me.
