My eyes snapped open as I sat up. I looked around my eyes adjusting to the bright room. The memory of what happened floated back to me. I looked myself over seeing my left ankle wrapped and my ribs taped. I touched my shoulder wincing. I saw stitches on my shoulder. I got to my feet carefully. My left leg protested but I walked out of the room. I was on Olympus but how did I get here? My lips parted as Derek rounded the corner. He rushed toward me his lips crashing against mine. Fire rushed through me as the kiss deepened. Derek pulled back looking me over.

"How are you feeling?" He asked as I smiled.

"Better now that I found you," I said as he took my hand in his.

"What happened down there?" Derek asked as I averted my gaze. I held back the emotions I had been repressing. I took a shaky breath before my eyes found his.

"I fought Ares and Hades," I whispered. I couldn't bring myself to go into great detail. "I killed Hades and his Siren Sasha. I have one question, how did I get here?"

"Ares carried you here," Derek said as confusion floated through me.

"Why? He wasn't on our side," I muttered.

"Ares probably figured out that without Hades he wouldn't last long. His only chance was to bring you here and ask for forgiveness," Derek said as I nodded.

"Is there a reason I have stitches?" I asked Derek.

"Zeus couldn't heal you so we had to use human methods to mend your body," Derek said as he gripped my hand. "Zeus will want to see you."

"Where is he?" I asked as Derek bit his lip. He didn't want to tell me where Zeus was. "Derek tell me."

"He is in the ballroom dealing with Ares," Derek said after a moment. I limped down the hall toward the ballroom leaving Derek standing outside my room. I entered the room as Ares pleaded with Zeus.

"Please accept my apology Zeus. I placed my allegiance with the wrong side," Ares said his voice trembling. "I thought I could avoid a battle with huge losses by giving Clarissa to him. I did not think he would use her to attack you."

"Ares why should I grant you anything but a swift death?" Zeus growled as I glanced at a teary Aphrodite.

"Because Aphrodite needs him," I said my voice echoing through the room. All eyes shifted to me as murmurs filled the room.

"Clarissa," Zeus said getting off his throne. Zeus approached me with a smile. "Are you feeling alright?"

"Little sore but could be worse," I said as Ares looked at me. I saw no guilt in his eyes for his actions yet I couldn't help but pity him. "I think Ares has been punished enough for he was bested by a human." My words aimed at his greatest flaw, his ego. I saw the rage in his gaze but knew he wouldn't dare voice his anger.

"Aphrodite, can you take Clarissa back to her room while I make my decision," Zeus said as I sighed. I limped toward the door.

"She can stay I'll be fine," I said stepping into the hall. I opened my door to find Derek sitting on my bed. I sat next to him resting my head on his shoulder. "Now what?"

"We live our lives without fear of Hades," Derek smiled at me. I looked into his blue eyes before pressing my lips to his. I winced as his hand bumped my side. "Sorry did I hurt you?"

"I'm okay Derek," I said firmly caressing his cheek. "I do think I should see a doctor about my wounds since I can't heal them."

"I'll take you," Derek said scooping me up. He teleported to the hospital checking in with a nurse.

"So who put my stitches in?" I asked as Derek laughed.

"Aphrodite did. She spent a while on Earth as a doctor in the army. She tried to stop the hate," Derek said as I smirked.

"I believe it," I said when a nurse came to get us. I lay on the bed with Derek standing next to me. We waited in silence for the doctor to show up. I played with my ring absently when the door swung open. The doctor walked over to me.

"What brings you here today?" She asked me.

"I think I broke a few ribs," I said then motioned to my left leg. "I may have injured my ankle too."

"I'm going to order some X-rays to determine the extent of your injuries," she said eyeing Derek.

"We went skiing and I went off a jump wrong and hit a tree," I lied not wanting her to accuse Derek.

"I'll put the order in and they should get you soon," she said leaving the room.

"She thinks I beat you," Derek muttered irritation lacing his words.

"So what? We both know you don't hurt me," I said firmly as he sighed. I smiled as the transfer people came to take me to X-ray. I left Derek in the room to wait for me. The technician had me lay on the table to X-ray my left ankle. He angled my foot to get the best picture. He placed the shields over my body before exiting the room. I heard the machine rev before it beeped and went dark. He came out switched the film out.

"Can you stand up?" He asked as I nodded. I stood in front of the X-ray machine my back pressed against the cool metal. He aimed the machine at my chest before stepping out again repeating the process. The transfer people took me back to my room after the X-ray technician confirmed the pictures were good. I sat on the bed as Derek flashed me a smile.

"How'd it go?" He asked as I reached for his hand. He took my hand his thumb rubbing circles on the back of my hand.

"The X-rays were routine Derek," I laughed. Derek was concerned about me. The doctor came back pulling up the X-rays on the computer to show me.

"Your scans are clean you just have a severe sprain and bruised ribs. You are very lucky, your injures could have been worse," she said as I smiled.

"Thanks doctor," I said as she nodded.

"I'll get your discharge papers ready and you'll be out of here," she said as Derek smiled. She left the room quickly. I looked at Derek feeling at peace with my life. I didn't have to be scared anymore.

"I love you," he said firmly as a blush spread across my cheeks.

"And I you," I said my eyes sparkling with love. I loved Derek, the immortal son of Hades...
