My lips parted slightly as the immortal sat at the table. Before my eyes Zeus wearing normal clothes.

"Hi," I said still shocked.

"Hello Clarissa," Zeus said flatly. "You asked to see me."

"Did you know? You are the reason for my existence," I muttered fixing him with my blue gaze.

"Not at first," he said after a minute. "I tracked your mother down before I realized who you were."

"I just want to be normal," I said as he sighed.

"Not possible anymore. You powers will continue to grow until they destroy you," Zeus said firmly.

"Did you ever think I could handle my magic and lead a normal human life?" I snapped harshly.

"I can't let you do that," he sighed as a tear slipped down my face.

"We are family and yet you want me dead!" I struggled to keep my voice down.

"No I don't, I just want you to come to Olympus with me," he said as my eyes locked onto his. I searched for even a hint of deception when I felt Hades. Hades had entered the restaurant and began to try to control me. I gripped the edge of the table giving Zeus a glare.

"You are a jerk. I actually believed you and instead you brought Hades here to try and force me into submission!" I growled. Zeus's mood shifted from friendly to ridged. He looked around the restaurant before his eyes found Hades.

"He was not invited," Zeus spat the silverware sparkling with Zeus's power. "I'll take care of him you should run."

"But what about our talk?" I asked as he gave my hand a squeeze.

"Our discussion can be finished at a later time," Zeus said getting to his feet. He rushed toward Hades giving Derek and me time to get to Kelly. I gripped Derek's hand sprinting from the restaurant. We stepped out into the rainy street.

"Where is Kelly?" I asked not seeing her car.

"I don't know," Derek said as I looked around for an escape. I spotted a crowded nightclub down the street. I ran down the street pulling Derek behind me. I put my best sexy look on walking up to the bouncer.

"Can we cut the line?" I asked putting my lips inches from his.

"Anything for a pretty girl," he smirked letting Derek and me into the club. We stepped onto the dance floor half heartedly dancing. Derek pulled out his phone calling Sam. No one answered. My heart sunk. Had Hades hurt them?

"What do we do?" I asked softly as Derek pulled me tightly against his body.

"You take Zeus's offer and I go back to the underworld. I want you as safe as you can be," he said as tears pooled in my eyes.

"I don't want to leave you," I sobbed looking into his eyes.

"You may be dead but Hades can still hurt you," Derek said firmly. His lips hovered above mine as I closed the gap. I ran my fingers through his hair as my lips caressed his. I gasped as a new energy filled my body. Hades's influence faded as a warmth filled my body. I no longer had to fight to remain solid anymore. As Derek and I pulled apart we looked at each other in a mix of longing and shock.

"I love you Derek!" I said firmly before turning away from him. My fingers slipped from his as my heart cracked. I walked out of the club with teary eyes. "Zeus!" I called. In a moment he stood beside me. I faced him and I saw a flash of pity before I took his hand. I stood on Olympus once again and this time I chose to come. Tears continued to spill down my face as my body grew cold. I wished for Derek to be here but he couldn't.

"Clarissa, what happened?" Zeus asked as I looked at him.

"Derek went back with Hades. I'm never going to see him again," I said through my tears.

"I promise you are safe here Clarissa," he said to me. "Your heart beats."

"When I kissed Derek I felt myself come back to life. I don't know how a kiss could bring me back but his did," I murmured.

"Love can do many things. Love is why I left Fallon and love is why I'm using my power to shield you from Hades," Zeus said after a minute. "You are special Clarissa and once you learn that you can change the world."

"I just wish Derek could be here. I haven't been separated from him for long but it hurts to be so far from him," I whispered as Zeus led me to Aphrodite. She read my emotions and found a way to dull the pain.

"Can't you bring him here? Protect him like you did for Clarissa," Aphrodite asked him gently. She had a way with words the brought even the strongest man to his knees.

"Sir," Ares interrupted us. "Hades wishes to speak with you."

"Ares stay with her. Don't let anyone touch her," Zeus ordered before leaving me with the two immortals. I wondered what Derek was doing while I was on Olympus. My mind drifted to memories of Derek.

I sat in class my mind unable to focus on the lecture. My mind consumed by the man from last night and his car keys in my pocket. As soon as class let out I got in his car. I drove straight to his apartment knocking on the door. The door swung open to reveal Derek.

"Hello beautiful," Derek said planting a quick kiss on my lips before letting me inside.

"Hi," I smiled tossing him his keys. "Loved the car."

"I'm glad cause that means I get to keep seeing you. I think you should keep borrowing the keys," he said hopefully. I laughed stepping toward him.

"You don't need the car to keep seeing me," I said seductively. His hands rested on my hips as my arms draped around his neck. His lips caressed my neck causing me to take a sharp shaky breath. I craved his touch but found myself wanting more that his touch, I wanted to know about his life. "Der." I muttered trying to calm my body.

"Yes," he said with a smirk.

"What do you do for a living?" I asked stepping back slightly.

"I'm an executive at a large business," he said as I looked at him.

"Do you like your job?" I asked as an unclear emotion flashed in his blue eyes.

"At times I do," he said softly. I walked toward him again deciding I should take my questions slow. I didn't know why but against my better judgement I was helplessly drawn to Derek...
