I'm so glad to have 6 reads already on only my first chapter! Please help me spread the word, I'd really appreciate it!

I had been going to the same high school for two years now, so knew my way around.

The school day went by terribly slow, the classes just seemed to be trudging on and on.

Once I finally got out, I made my way to the parking lot to find my aunts car. Everyone was walking around laughing with their friends, and then there was me, by myself as always.

I wasn't some depressed teenager, I was fine on my own, but my aunt thought differently.

"Make any friends?" She asks me as soon as I open the car door.

I shrug my shoulders and sit down, closing the door and buckling my seatbelt.

"You've got to get out there more, Mads" She sighs and starts driving out of the school parking lot.

"I'm fine" I mutter, watching all of the girls and their friends as we drove home.

I thought our little conversation was over, but as we were walking towards the apartment she speaks again.

"You had lots of friends at the dance studio, and you were nearly as popular as your mother was until you stopped dancing. You could have became even better than your mother, your turns are the best i've ever seen" She said, unlocking the door to the apartment once we reach it.

I walk in without saying anything, making a beeline for my bedroom. In the distance I hear her sigh and murmur that she was going out for groceries.

I sat down on my bed and started my homework, it was crazy the amount we got on even the first day.

Once I finished my homework I took out the current book I was reading, Paper Towns by John Green. I was only about half way into the book when I kept getting distracted by a thought.

Even though my aunt nagged me every day about dancing again and I just ignored her, I was actually thinking about it this time.

I mean I know it would be hard, because all I would think about is my mother, and how she would be doing the same exact thing if my parents car hadn't been hit into a river by a drunk driver.

I haven't even tried dancing since my mother had died, but I might just give it a shot because my aunt was right, my mother would want me to. My thoughts were distracted when I heard my aunt calling me from the kitchen.

"I'm home, Mads, come help please!"

I close my book and set it down on my bed before exiting my room and meeting my aunt in the kitchen.

"There's a music concert tomorrow night down at the theater, I don't know if it's something you'd be interested in but I heard some girls around your age talking about it at the store" my aunt explains while placing bananas in a bowl of fruit.

Now that she mentioned it, I had remembered a bunch of girls talking about going to a concert tomorrow night. It was some band and a guest DJ to premiere one of his songs.

There was a theater not too far from our apartment where I used to have recitals, competitions or just performances for dance, and they also hold concerts occasionally.

"Sure, I'll go check it out" I say while handing her a carton of milk to put away, and her face perks up at my words.

Anything that gives me the chance of socializing with other people my age, my aunt was all for.

I shake my head and help my aunt finish putting away groceries before heading back to my room.

I didn't know what would come out of that concert tomorrow, but I was hoping for the best.

And just as I was falling asleep that night, I made a last minute decision.

Tomorrow night was going to be the first time I dance again.
