I stand in the center of the hard wood floor in my dance classroom, staring at my reflection on the wall covered in mirrors.
I could tell that Sarah, my old dance teacher, was still in shock that is was here by the way she stood in front of stereo, jaw dropped.
"Come on, Sarah, you're wasting time here." I joke and she quickly nods, and I glance over at the small window in the corner of the classroom that looks out to the lobby, and see Ansel peeking inside.
I give him a small smile before Sarah comes over and motions for me to sit next to her on the floor, to start stretching.
"So, Mads, what caused you to come back here after these very long two years?" She asks as she extends her legs in front of her, stretching over to touch her toes and I do the same.
I shrug slightly, pointing my feet as i wrap my fingers over the top of my pointe shoes.
"Well, my aunt has been trying to get me to dance again forever, but it was really bad these past few weeks. Finally I decided I'd try it, but I didn't want anyone to know about it so I went to the theatre where mom and I used to perform." I start and she nods, still stretching but listens intently.
"Well, you see that boy over there?" I ask and nod toward the little window in the corner of the studio and she nods quickly.
"He looks familiar actually" She says, glancing at Ansel with a small smile.
"Well that's Ansel, Ansel Elgort, he's been in a few movies. But he was there and caught me while I was dancing. We talked and now we're dating actually, and he's the one who talked me into coming here, into dancing again. My inspiration, I guess you could say." I say with a smile, glancing over at Ansel in the window.
"Well that's beautiful, Mads. A movie star? Wow. I'm very happy for you, Mads." She says and I nod, returning my gaze to her.
After a few more minutes of stretching, we get to work.

The first day back to dancing went pretty well, but I left with multiple bruises lining my legs and feet.
I had lost a lot of muscle in my legs over the two years I stopped dancing, which is very important, especially for pointe.
Sarah and I agreed that I should start doing exercises to build up strength, since I was very skinny.
We went through a few different dances, practiced different leaps and turns, and after two hours, we decided to call it a day.
"Thank you, Sarah, I'll be seeing a lot more of you soon" I say and give her a big hug, even though we were both sweaty.
"Anytime, honey, you know the studio is always open for you. Come in for a class sometime, we can squeeze you in" She says, patting my back.
"I definitely will" I say and open the door to see Ansel still standing by the window.
"So do I get to meet the boy that brought my Madeline back or are you gonna hide him from me?" Sarah asks, leaning agains the doorframe as she tilts her head up to look at Ansel.
Sarah was a tiny little thing, and Ansel was 6'4" so he towered over her.
"Hello, ma'am, I'm Ansel" He says, taking a step foreword to shake her hand.
"Well hello, Ansel, call me Sarah. I'm very glad you got my Maddie to dance again" She says with a smile and shakes his hand.
I sit down on one of the chairs and take off my pointe shoes, and put them into my bag so I can slip on my converse.
Ansel and Sarah were still talking, but I wasn't paying attention. Once I finish, I stand up and walk to Ansel's side, grabbing his hand.
"Goodbye, Sarah, I'll see you later" I say with a smile.
"Goodbye, it was nice meeting you" Ansel says as he laces our fingers together.
I see a smile curve at Sarah's lips as she notices our hands, and she nods.
"You too, Ansel, goodbye" She says and watches us as we walk out of the studio and back to Ansel's car.
