When she looked at him a hundred thoughts ran through her head but the only thing she could manage to do was smile.❞

Sundays. Fuck, I love Sundays.

It means that schools finished for the week, I've finished my homework a day prior, my basketballs over and I can relax.

I roll over in my bed, pulling on the curtains to open them before rubbing my eyes and sending a hand through my hair to comb out the knots. It doesn't work, I can already tell by the way that it springs up again. The sun streams through the now open windows and falls on my black shirt. Deciding it's too hot, I untangle myself from my very inviting covers and pull my shirt over and off my head. I discard it into the washing basket, heading to grab my phone, smiling when I see the message waiting for me.

I type a quick reply, grinning when I see the typing sign. Our conversation goes as follows;

After replying to a few more messages, I walk over to my wardrobe and pick out some clothes. She seemed to like my tight black top the other day, so I pull out a navy one that's the same and find my black jeans again. Chucking them on my ensuite floor, I twist the cold shower nob to hot and proceed to strip off.

The water washes away all traces of my tiredness and as time progresses I realise how excited I am for today. I really, really, like Kenzie I realise, almost smiling to myself. She's so happy and infectious, it's even rubbing off on me!

When I'm finished and out of the shower I dress and style my hair roughly. Lacing up my shoes, I'm happy to find out that it's just on 10:30. I stick my phone in my back pocket, walking along our hallway until I reach Lauren's room.

"Lauren." I say softly, knocking on the door.

"Yeah?" She says croakily.

The door creaks loudly as I open it, and she winces from her bed. Clearly, she's still sick. "I'm leaving now."

"Okay. Be nice to her, got it? Gentlemanly." She hurriedly says. "And get me a donut!"

"Please." I scoff.

"Please." She pleads, and I smile.

"Sure thing then." I agree after she's said the magic words. "See you later."

"Bye!" She says huskily, before bursting into a coughing fit.

The high pitched cafe bell rings out as I step inside the building, and the smell of coffee fills my nostrils. A rush of warmth bursts over my skin and I smile when I see Johnny making his way towards me. He grins right back.

"Hey." He starts.

"Hi, how are you?" I ask.

"Better now that you're here." He winks and I blush. "Come on, I've got a table for us."

"Oh, I'll just order first."

"Don't worry about it." He smiles, and his hand finds the small of my back. "I've already ordered."

"Don't tell me that you know my order off by heart already?" I giggle, looking up at him as he leads me to a table.

"An americano with two shots, and a side of hot water and runny cream?"

"No way!" I laugh. "Nobody's ever got that on the first date."

"Well I'm glad. I must just be so much better than allll your other dates." He says cheekily, pulling out a chair for me.

"Most likely." I smile, sitting down. "So how was your basketball game yesterday?"

"Oh we won. We always do."

"Someone's a bit cocky." I blush, looking down as he checks me out.

"I always am." He smiles, and I look over to see that our orders coming. The waitress sets our coffees down, as well as three donuts. I send a questioning look Johnny's way.

"One's for Lauren." He smiles. "She's sick."

I instantly feel horrible. "Oh god, I'm such a horrible friend." I groan.

"No, don't worry. She only came down with it last night."

"Okay, phew." I laugh, tucking hair behind my ear. His eyes glimmer at the gesture, and I make a mental note.
He likes giggles and tucking hair. I'll remember that.

Throughout the rest of the morning, I thoroughly enjoy his company. He smiles, he jokes, he laughs- and it's entertaining; refreshing even. I'm sure my cheeks are almost permanently flushed, and my eyes are probably sparkling as much as his green ones are. He makes my skin feel like it's on fire, but my stomach still flips in anticipation everytime he smiles. I have never, ever felt this way with a guy– they fall in love with me, not the other way around.

Hmm.

It's feels nice to fall in love.
