The only way to describe today would be cold. The air is cold, outside is cold, our house is cold– everything's just frozen over. Last night, we had a blizzard, which meant that our parents couldn't even get out of the house to go to work, and we can't get out to go to school. I have to admit it was pretty exciting– I literally haven't spent a whole day with my parents in years.

Maddie and I didn't waste the opportunity; we probably talked our parents ears off. I haven't smiled so big in a long time– probably since I first met Johnny.

Speaking of Johnny, Mum has become pretty interested in him and made me invite him for dinner. This was another surprise– getting home before 7 isn't something she does regularly.

I hope with all my heart that she misses me as much as I miss her.

Ringing the doorbell, I step back a little and watch my breath fan out in front of me. Mackenzie's porch shelters me from the snow and wind that is currently swirling around our neighbourhood; I'm quite glad about that.

It's the middle of winter at the moment, and because Mackenzie was absolutely joyful at the idea of having dinner with her parents I couldn't say no– I biked here. The roads are a no go zone at the moment, because of all the snow and everything. My hands are numb from the cold and my cheeks are most likely flushed a scarlet colour, but her beaming smile when she opens the door makes it all worth it.

"Hello." She says enthusiastically. "Come in, come in."

I laugh a deep laugh, shutting their mahogany door behind me. "How are you?"

"Good." She blushes, looking down at her feet which are clad with these fluffy green and red socks.

"It's a little early for Christmas clothing isn't it?" I tease, and she takes me hand before pulling me away.

"Oh shush!"

Stepping into her kitchen, I notice that it looks a little more lived in with Christmas trinkets and lights strung all around. A woman that looks exactly like Kenzie but with a dirty blonde hair colour steps through the opposite doorway, smiling like the cheshire cat when she sees me.

"You must be Johnny– I'm Melissa, Kenzie's Mom."

"Hello." I grin as we shake hands. "It's nice to meet you."

"You're staying for dinner, yes?" She asks as Mackenzie's hand winds itself around mine. My arm drifts towards her waist.

"If you'll have me, I'd like that."

"Of course we'll have you!" Mackenzie interrupts, looking up at me.

I smile down at her. Melissa subtly exits the room, and Mackenzie leans up to give me a kiss on the cheek. "It's only six, dinners at seven. Do you want to hang out upstairs?"

"That'd be nice." I say, letting her pull me out of yet another room.

While walking upstairs, she tells me about how how happy she is about the fact that she's reconnecting with her parents. I mean, I already knew something was up because her whole attire seems to be radiating happiness; her face practically glowing. I smile softly as my heart constricts in my chest, and I realise that I really do care about her happiness.

The soft sound of her door clicking shut brings a whole new feeling into the room. We're separated from her family by a lot of stairs and a now shut door, providing us with an almost cheeky atmosphere.

Smiling, we head over to her bed with our steps on her wooden floors now synchronised. Because our hands are still entwined I pull her to me, embracing her in an off the shoulder hug as we lay down. Her head buries in my chest as I stroke her hair.

"You deserve the world." She says randomly, and I nod.

"So do you."

For the second time that evening, she leans up to give me a kiss; but this time on my lips. They part, ready for her, and this feeling spreads throughout me.

Love.

I can't believe I didn't realise it sooner; I mean the heart pumping adrenaline feeling never goes away when I'm with her, as well as the desire to please her– to make her happy.

She moans softly when I brush my fingers across her collarbone, almost undoing me. I gasp for air when I pull away, peeking down at her. Lashes fluttering, she smiles.

I don't have to force it at all, or anticipate it. It just comes out.

"I love you." I gasp. "A lot. And I don't mind if you don't love me back, not yet. But I'm sure, I'm sure of this; you've changed my life for the better."

Her lips part as if she's going to say something, but then they close. She leans up to me again; this time kissing my nose, my cheeks, my temple.

"I love you more." She whispers.

"Not possible." I say, overjoyed.

Next?

Well, I pull her into my lap and kiss her senseless.

It's the best possible feeling.
