Kates - 2 months after break up.

I was doing it again, daydreaming, wall gazing, fantasying whatever you want to call it. I was in another world as I stared away through space into a world that was all treasured and beautiful, dreams came true and life was bliss.

I was lying down on a white cloud of linen and skins. Soft and warm I wrapped myself in the wall on quilts and pillows on a large king-size bed. I suddenly felt cold air rush around me like I was standing at the top of a great mountain top where clouds passed me by. I felt the cold and fear of being alone in this great bed when I felt him. I felt his heat on my back as he pulled me into him. I was in his arms once again and I could feel my heart flying off out of me. I felt my body mounding into his own, as we joined together as perfect... like a key to a lock. His arms were wrapped tight around me locking me in place, to where I belonged. With Jake.

I could almost feel the heat touch my skin as my fantasy dreamed on. His mouth moved over to my ear as he breathed his burning breath me.

'I miss you' the words washed out of my mouth. I could feel his breath. I felt his heat on my skin once again 'I...' Jake was about to say as a deep voice broke the dream to shatters.

"Katharine Smith?" a voice dragged me back to the reality of my life. I had to take a moment to shake away the beauty of Jake's face from my mind. As I finally came back to the world I notice two police officers standing over the till looking at me.

Panic suddenly ran through my body as the two female police offices looked my way.

"Yes that's me" my voice sounded weak and childlike.

"My names Officer Daniels and this is Officer McMillen" she introduces herself and the other woman.

What were they doing here?

I thought as I recanted the past few months in my head wondering what wrong I had done. You can't help doing that sometimes, can you? It like when someone checks your bag for something, you know nothing there but suddenly there's that fear.

"We were wondering if we could have a few moments of your time."

"Of course"

When someone in a uniform wants to talk to you, you talk. "One moment" I went around the back to the office where Millie was sat packing up her few bits.

"Millie there are two police offices here that want to talk to me," I said as I rushed to her. I didn't notice that I was shaking until Millie pulled my hands into hers.

"Oh dear what did you do?" she asked with a concerned look on her face.

"Nothing that I can think of," I said thinking back yet again to see if I'd missed anything.

"Oh you don't think it's about that escort business with Jay now do you?" she said and my heart then jumped to my throat. Oh God, what if that's what they wanted.

"What... I don't know I never thought about that. I never saw it as breaking the law... was that not legal?" my panicking had hit a new level I started to sweat with the heat forming around my body.

"I don't know darling, everything to this bloody government is illegal now" she pulled away and walked out with me to the front of the shop where the officers were waiting.

Would Jake have gone to the police? I did hurt him, maybe he was so angry he wanted revenge. I wouldn't blame him for it. I was horrible for doing what I did.

"Hello, my names Millie Davis, I owe the shop" she reached over a hand at both the ladies smiling. "Would you like to use my office to have your chat?" she offered.
