Jake
Every turn I take, she turns the other. Every move I make, she moves away. I thought after our conversation last night that she and I could at the very least be civil but all it seems to have done is made things worse.
I was on the field with the boys, near twenty yards away with everyone having their picnic but I could still see her rosy cheeks and the way she spoke to the others. I could see the way she sat straight up next to my brother uncomfortably. I could see her trying to pull the rest of her dress down as she sat legs to the side. I could see the slight showing of her thighs as she moved to pull on her dress, showing her milky, soft skin...
Before I knew it the ball, the guys were playing, with hit me on the shoulder. "Ahh..." I yelled as they just laughed.
"Wake up Jake!" Paul laughed "Can't believe they pay you what they do with your skills" he said as I picked up the ball to pass it back to him hard and fast but he dodged.
"Come on stop playing around let's play" Ben laughed at Paul's scared face as he met the others that all came to the field. To my surprise, everyone joined in to play. Even Lily who was being carried over against her will by Connor and Jay who never liked playing the game.
"We better play guys against the girls. We know how we all get when we play against each other" I said looking mainly at Paul.
"What?!" he said innocently but all the guys knew what a saw loser Paul was, remembering the time he nearly broke Ben's arm playing football. "Like you can speak Jake!" he yelled back at me. It was true I liked a good competition better than anyone but it was only meant to be a fun game of rugby. But I knew myself and the guys too well to know that nothing was ever just for fun. That's why we had to all go on the same team, otherwise blood might be spilt.
"Wait its Girls Vs Boys?" Leah asked with the rest of the girls, Lilly, Gemma and Kate, next to her looking just as confused. "But I don't know how to play" she said. I walked over to them picking up the ball from the ground.
"Girls here is the ball, all you have to do is get it past us, simple right" I said.
I looked up at Kate and finally saw them big brown eyes of hers looking at me. For the first time since last night, I didn't know how much I wanted her to look at me until now. I moved over taking in a deep breath as I look down at her rosy cheeks in that pretty summer dress. I put the rugby ball in her hands and moved away before I did something I'd regret. God she really was beautiful and she didn't even know it.
"Paul you go on the girls' team, where you belong. That way it's an even number" I jogged passed him pushing in to the other side with everyone laughing.
"Me and four beautiful women, with pleasure don't blame me if they all full in love with me" Paul said running over to them. I knew he was joking but that didn't stop this little stabbing feeling in my gut telling me to kick my brother in the ass.
Why the hell would I feel jealous over Paul?
"Gemma, what do you think you're doing? You can't play" Karl called out to her.
"And why not?" she said with her head held high. Karl always made the mistake of telling Gem she couldn't or shouldn't do something. It only ever made her want to do it even more.
"Well... you know why! Don't play games with me!" he moved over to her looking pissed, which only rarely came out in Karl. He was always a calm, warm guy.
"No... No I don't know, you're going to have to tell me" she shook her head and put her hands on her hips.
He turned back towards us with that vain on the top of his head nearly popping.
