Karen's POV

"Hey Karen what are you doing? " Jack asked as he walked inside my room. He took off his shoes and stared at me.
"Oh Im just looking at stuff" i replied,nervously.
"What kind of stuff?"
"You know just basic stuff Youtube,Twitter"
He walked over and grabbed my laptop.
"Hey! Give it back Jack" I said,trying to reach out for my laptop.
"You're applying for the University of Chicago?" He asked, furrowing his eyebrows and giving me my laptop back. I nodded and shrugged.
"I never knew you were going to go to college."
"Well you never asked." I said as I continued filling out my application.
It had always been a dream of mine to go to a University to study Psychology but I never had time to actually apply until now. Lately, I've been searching and applying to colleges with the best Psychology programs. The best Psychology programs were mostly out of state which was sad because I had to move out on my own but I knew this day would come. Yesterday, I had talked to the girls and Corbyn about this and they were completely fine with my decision. Jacky was going to stay here in LA and Corbyn was going to move in while Jeylin went to visit family in Virginia for a few months.
"Where else have you applied to?"
"New York University,the University of Arizona, Columbia University, and many more."
"Wow. Did you apply to any in Los Angeles or maybe nearby."
"Not really."
"Why?"
"I dont know. I just want to explore other places and meet new people. I want to travel and get out of LA for a little while."
"Oh." was the only thing he said. An awkward tension surrounded us. I had forgiven him but we were only going to be friends right now. It got awkward at times like just right now.
"I finally did it. I send in my final application. They probably wont accept me though because Im really late in applying for the fall semester."
"Dont worry Karen. Someone will accept you. You're really smart and beautiful and anyone would be lucky to have a girl like you...in their school of course" He said. Wow. Not again. This was one of the reasons it was always awkward. He said things that only a boyfriend would say to his girlfriend.
"Thanks Jack" I replied,awkwardly .

(I know you'll probablly hate me but huge time skip because I want to finish the story off at 40 chapters)
Weeks later
I yawned, grabbing my laptop. It was 4:46pm. I had just woken up from a nap and I decided to check my email for the 15th time this week. I turned on my laptop and waited for it to load. It had been weeks since I turned in my applications and I still haven't gotten any replies back. Jack and Corbyn were the only members of Why Dont We that knew I applied to Universities. I knew i wasn't going to get accepted anywhere so i haven't told the rest of the guys.
I refreshed my email and there was no new message. I sighed. It was hopeless. I was never going to get accepted anywhere. I went on Youtube and decided to watch Buzzfeed Unsolved videos to get my mind off of things. I watched a numerous amount of videos but in the back of my head I was still thinking about my applications and about being declined. I decided it was time to turn my laptop off and go see what the girls were doing. Maybe they could try to distract me like they have been doing for the last couple of days. I clicked off of YouTube and decided I needed to check my email one last time. I refreshed my email. A new message popped up from the University of Chicago.
Oh no. This was it. My hands began shaking. I could imagine a Big Fat rejection. I could imagine the email in my head saying 'Sorry you have been rejected from the University of Chicago'
I took a deep breath. You got this Karen. I slowly pressed my fingers on the touch pad and clicked on the email.

Congratulations Karen Garcia
You have been Accepted to the University of Chicago....

Hello fellow readers. I was going to torture you by not writing the message but then I was like nah Ill be nice to them for a change and not leave them in suspense. Anyways I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter. The final chapter is coming up soon.
