Two weeks later

Izel

Today wasn't my day. I had came into my first period early because I wanted to put my head down for a while.

I had the biggest headache and my stomach wasn't feeling too well either.

None of this was happening until my period came.

The ringing bell, which made me cringe, notified me that these worrisome kids were about to walk in.

August walked in with Marquez trailing behind him.

"You straight?" August asked as he sat down.

"I started." I mouthed.

"You want me ta take you home during lunch?"

"Yea -- I'll have to speak to my other teachers though about my work."

"Aight." He looked at me for a second then turned his head.

"Hey," someone tappped my shoulder. I turned around and seen Marquez smiling at me. "I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable at the party."

"Oh um -- It's fine."

I was nervous to talk to Marquez because August was right next to me and I didn't want him to get mad.
-
After that class, August took my books for me and we walked out.

"Hey August!" Celeste came up and gave him a bear hug, causing me to frown.

"Wassup Zel." She gave me the friendliest hug I've ever received.

"Why you seem so happy?" I giggled.

"Because I'm about to go get some food." She laughed and flipped her hair. "Where are you two going?"

"Baby girl not feelin' well so ima take ha' home."

"Oh, well, August, I'll talk to you later?"

"Sure."

Before she could say anything else, me and him walked away.

"What does she have to talk to you about?" I looked up at him.

"Some family stuff."

"How come she can't talk to me about it?"

"I don't know -- She probably isn't dat comfortable wit you."
-
August dropped me off at the house and I had to make him leave so he wouldn't miss lunch. He's already skinny enough.

I walked into the kitchen and saw Travis beat boxing to the microwave sound. It's never a dull moment with this guy.

"What are you doing?" I giggled while sitting at the island.

"Warming up my blunt." He said in a casual tone.

"What?"

"Warming. Up. My. Blunt."

"You're supposed to warm up blunts?"

The microwave dinged and he took it out while smiling. I saw the top of the blunt glistening a little bit.

"I put honey on it. What do you want?" He asked while putting the blunt in a brown bag.

"Did August and Celeste have a bad past?"

"Me no speak no english." He bopped his head while rolling up another blunt and putting honey on it.

"Travis?" I frowned.

"Girl yo mean mugs don't scare me." He laughed. "Why won't you ask Aug?"

"Because he never tells me anything."

"I wonda' why -- You heard that trump is six votes away from inauguration?"

"Travis for real -- If I knew secrets about your girlfriend i'd tell you."

"Why you think I won't let you meet my girlfriend?"

I gave him my best pout and he sighed.

"All ima say is they dated -- Things didn't go too well, but they workin' on it."

"Working on it? Do you think they still have feelings for each other?"

"Nah -- He's ova' ha' and she should know not ta een' try ta get back wit him. Plus, he got you -- Dat nigga loooovvvveeeee him some Izel." He chuckled while starting the microwave again.

"What happened between them?"

"I'll only tell if I see my friend Abraham." He held his hand out.

I sighed in frustration and gave him a five dollar bill.

"Im still not tellin' you. I just needed five dolla's" He snickered and put the other blunt in the bag and walked off.

Travis is literally going to make me kill him.
