Izel
I woke up the next morning and I felt stuck.
I looked up and saw August still had his arms wrapped around me.
"August - Let me go." I giggled while moving his lanky arm.
He rolled over and snuggled with his pillow. I shook my head and walked to my bathroom.
When I was done, I went downstairs, knowing I'd find Mama Sheila down here cracking it up with Travis, or beating him.
"Goodmorning sweetie." She smiled and kissed my cheek.
"Good morning." I smiled.
"Yo' ugly boyfriend still sleep?" Travis asked.
"I don't have an ugly boyfriend, and yes, he is still sleep." I frowned.
"Don't talk about her man." Mama Sheila added.
"You can't speak about anyone being ugly but yourself." I secretly flicked him off.
"See - Mama, did you know they slept togetha' last night? Now whoop both they asses!" He yelled while walking out.
Mama Sheila gave me a look that made me feel bad.
"I'm sorry, I was just really scared and I felt safer with him." I sat at the island.
"I I understand - I'm fine with you two laying with each other, I just don't want no more grandkids right now." She laughed.
"Yes ma'am." I giggled. "Oh, I came down here to see if I could stay home today."
"There's no school today anyway." She giggled. "It's a teacher in service day."
I sighed in relief.
"Okay good. I'm gonna go try and go back to sleep then - In my bed." I cheesed.
"Okay." She shook her head while laughing.
I walked upstairs to August's room to grab my phone but I noticed he was up.
"You woke up without speaking to me?" I added a dramatic tone.
He looked up at me and smiled.
"Good morning baybeh." He said in a raspy tone. "You feelin' betta today?"
"Yea - I just don't want to be seen by people."
He frowned.
"Why not?"
I pointed to the scar and bruise on my face and he shook his head.
"Girl, dats nothing. Everyone seen a scar and a bruise befo'."
"Yea but people are judgmental these days about every single little thing."
"Only judgment you gotta worry bout is mine. You still the same ol' beautiful ass Izel."
"Thank you." I blushed.
"Na' I wanna take you out."
"When?"
"Lata' on tonight. We can go ta ya favorite restaurant."
"Uhm - Wendy's is my favorite restaurant." I giggled.
"Aight - I'll arrange something." He grinned.
Knowing August, he was going to go all out, just so I could enjoy Wendy's.
I don't know what he had planned, but i'm sure he'd do something to make me smile. And plus, he loves being extra.
"You like the number 5 right?" He asked while getting up, revealing his tatted chest.
"Yea." I smiled.
"Fat ass." He shook his head and went to go take his shower.
"I'm not fat!" I yelled.
"Yea you are!" He yelled back.
I laughed and got under his blankets.
I felt something vibrate and I thought it was my phone, but I saw his lighting up.
It was a text from " ☠️🔪💣💔 " I don't know who it was, but he obviously didn't like this person.
I unlocked his phone and went to the person and saw a picture of a stomach and a details about a doctors appointment.
I clicked on the picture, and sure enough, it was Jasmine.
Why was she sending August this though?
I scrolled through the messages and saw they had been talking.
She also had said that he had needed to be at the appointments. Did she think he was the father?
I threw his phone back down and walked out the room.
I walked into Travis room and saw him playing a game.
"Damn guh' you cant knock?" He mugged me.
"Did you know about Jasmine being pregnant?"
"No..." He trailed.
"Don't lie to me Travis."
"If you think I'm lying then why'd you ask?" He squinted his eyes.
"Travis!"
"Okay - Okay, yea she's pregnant, but it can't be Aug's."
"Why can't it be? And how come neither one of you told me?"
"Because we ain't want you stressin' ova' dat shit. How'd you even find out?"
"They've been texting each other about the whole thing." I sat down. "He didn't cheat on me?"
"No, he ain't cheat, and it isn't his. They had sex a long time ago - In order for it to be his, she'd have the baby months ago. It isn't his." He reassured.
"And you should talk ta him about dis'. I ain't got nothing ta do wit who he fuck."
I frowned and unplugged his game before walking out.
"I hate you!" He yelled.
I smirked, knowing I had pissed him off.
