August

I waited outside for Zel slow ass to come out the building so we could go on home.

I saw ha come out and I noticed something gold in ha hair. It was prolly just one of ha' hair clips.

I opened the door for ha and she got in without sayin' a word.

I circled ova' ta my side and started the car.

"Can we stop by the store?" She asked while I pulled out the parking lot.

"Whachu need from the sto'?" I frowned.

"It's personal - If you don't want to take me then I'll walk."

"I ain't say- Nevermind. Which sto'?"

"Walgreens. Also, can you like - Un sync our phones?"

I ignored ha question and kept on driving.

Izel should know dat I ain't un syncing shit until I found out who fucking around wit ha.

"August." I saw ha frown.

"No." I bluntly said.

I pulled up into the walgreens parkin' lot and let ha' get out.

"I won't be long." She said befo' gettin out.

"Wait -" I reached in my pocket and grabbed my wallet for ha.

"I have eno-"

"Girl, if you don't take dis wallet, it's gon be between me and you." I frowned.

She sighed and took it.

When we got home, I saw Travis in the kitchen warming up blunts as usual and mama was sittin in the livin room watching ha show.

"Hey mama." I snuck up behind her and kissed ha cheek.

"Hey baby. How was school for y'all?" She paused the tv.

"It was straight for me." I shrugged.

"Bad." Izel hugged ha.

"Why was it bad?" Travis asked.

Next thing Izel did was pull ha hair out of the messy bun and all our eyes got wide.

Ha hair was straight up gold.

"In Chemistry today, that trick - Jasmine - Poured chemicals on my hair, so this happened."

"It looks cute - You can blend it a little." Mama said.

"Or you could dye it back. Duh!" Travis said while walking away.

"That's why I can't stand that girl - She's nothing but trouble." Mama shook ha head.

My phone buzzed and I saw a message come in from Izel phone.

Unknown: Nice house ;).

I looked out the window and saw no one or no cars out thea'.

I walked upstairs to whea' Trav was and saw him sorting his weed strains.

"Someone's watching the house." I said while handin' him my phone.

"What?" He frowned and read over the message. "This probably some joke - unless y'all had someone follow y'all home."

"Nah, no one was following us. I would've noticed dat. Whoeva' dis is wants ta hurt Zel."
